The thoughts we never say out loud.

"I'll just deal with it myself."
"Don't cry. Hold it together."
"I can't be seen as someone who couldn't handle it."

This is what stigma actually does. It doesn't just change how we talk about mental health. It changes what we allow ourselves to feel.

Swipe through. See yourself. Know you're not alone.

Let's Talk.

Did you know that one of the greatest protective factors for mental health is feeling like you belong?

National Reconciliation Week (27 May – 3 June) is a reminder that belonging has to be built... through honest conversations, listening, and respect. This year's theme All In calls on every Australian to commit to reconciliation not just this week, but every day.

That sits right at the heart of what LETS TALK stands for.

Talking saves lives. Listening changes them.

And building communities where everyone, no matter their background, feels safe to open up, is preventative mental health in action.

Sometimes the hardest part is starting the conversation.

If someone in your life hasn't seemed themselves lately, here's how to show up for them: ask, listen, encourage, and check in. Four simple steps that could mean everything to someone who's struggling.

You don't need to have all the answers. You just need to be there.

We're bringing the community together for a lived experience panel with honest conversations about mental health, how people face the hard times, and how they find their way through.

Because the CDFNL LETS TALK Round is about more than what happens on the oval.

📍 Colac RSL, 21 Murray Street, Colac

Open to everyone: CDFNL clubs, families, and the whole Colac community. Bring a mate. It could be the most important 90 minutes of the round 💙

This World Schizophrenia Awareness Day, we’re encouraging our community to replace stigma with understanding.

Schizophrenia is one of the most misunderstood mental health conditions, and too often people living with it face judgement, discrimination and isolation instead of compassion and support. In Australia, many people with schizophrenia are far more likely to experience harm, exclusion and loneliness than to cause harm themselves.

Schizophrenia can affect the way a person thinks, feels and experiences reality, but with the right support, treatment, connection and understanding, people can and do live meaningful, fulfilling lives.

At LETS TALK, we believe conversations matter.
Education matters.
And reducing stigma matters.

Because no one should feel ashamed to seek help or speak openly about their mental health experience.

Today, we encourage you to:
🧠 Learn more about schizophrenia
💬 Challenge harmful stereotypes
🤝 Lead with empathy instead of assumptions
❤️ Support people and families impacted by psychosis and schizophrenia

Awareness creates understanding.
Understanding creates connection.
And connection can change lives.

It’s National Volunteer Week… and maybe it’s your year to volunteer!

At LETS TALK, our volunteers are the heartbeat behind everything we do. From sharing lived experience stories, to presenting in schools and workplaces, helping at events, fundraising, or working behind the scenes as committee members, every role helps us reduce mental health stigma and encourage help-seeking in our community.

Right now, we’re looking for passionate people to join us.

You don’t need to “have all the answers.” You just need to care about making a difference.

We’re currently seeking:
▫️ Volunteer committee members
▫️ Lived experience speakers
▫️ Presentation support
▫️ Fundraising & event volunteers
▫️ General behind-the-scenes support

Whether you have a few hours a month or want to become more involved, we’d love to hear from you.

Because conversations change lives and so do the people willing to start them.

Send us an email at [email protected] to learn more or get involved.

This National Volunteer Week, we want to say a heartfelt thank you to the incredible volunteers behind LETS TALK 💙

To our lived experience speakers who bravely share their stories to help others feel less alone.

To the people organising events, fundraising, setting up chairs, selling raffle tickets, answering messages, spreading awareness and backing our mission in the community.

And to every single person helping us reduce mental health stigma and encourage help seeking behaviour... thank you.

LETS TALK exists because of volunteers who care deeply about making a difference, and we are so grateful for the time, passion and heart our volunteers continue to give.

You are helping create conversations that matter. Thank You!
