🌟 Celebrating Our Incredible Educators!

💙 It’s been a busy week for us here at Mater Dei Early Childhood Education, and our attention has deservedly been on our incredible Educators this week!

🎉On Wednesday, we celebrated one of the most important days on our calendar - Early Childhood Educators Day!

🤩 Our Educators are at the core of all the great things we do here at MDECE, and we are immensely grateful for the care, expertise and dedication they show our children every day.

🤝 We were also delighted to welcome Sally Quinnell MP to MDECE to see first-hand the incredible work our educators and staff do to support children with developmental delay or disability.

🙌 We’re grateful for Sally’s ongoing support of our region and her commitment to the services that make a difference to local children and families.

🌱 Grow and Belong Through Communication | Speech Pathology Week 🌱

🌳 Growth looks different for everyone, and communication development doesn’t stop in childhood. Speech pathologists support people across their lifespan — from first sounds and words to school readiness, friendships, independence, self-advocacy and lifelong participation.

💬 Every person's communication journey is different. Communication growth can look like using AAC to share a message, asking a question, building a new friendship, advocating for a need or participating more confidently in everyday life.

🤝 Communication helps us build friendships, join conversations and take part in the things that matter to us. When we reduce communication barriers, we can create more inclusive spaces where everyone feels seen, heard and valued.

🗣️ Speech pathologists can support belonging by building confidence, supporting friendships and using strategies such as AAC, visual supports and Key Word Sign to create greater access for all.

✨ Small changes can make a huge impact: be patient, give wait time, use visuals, model language and celebrate all forms of communication.

💬 Connect and Learn Through Communication | Speech Pathology Week 💬

🗣 This week is Speech Pathology Week, and throughout the week our incredible team of Speech Pathologists here at NextPath Assessment & Therapy are celebrating the many ways communication creates possibility.

🤝 Communication grows through everyday experiences, and some of the best opportunities can happen out in our local community.

🌳 Whether it’s joining in at Camden Council Library Services Storytime, exploring a local park, visiting a café or attending a community event, these everyday outings can provide meaningful opportunities to practise greetings, make choices, request, take turns and interact with others.

📚 Learning isn’t one-size-fits-all. Speech Pathologists support children to build the language, literacy and communication skills they need to understand, participate and thrive in education settings.

💡 Visual schedules, First-Then boards, movement breaks, language stimulation strategies and repetition can all help support understanding, communication and learning.

🌱 Small supports can make a big difference.

😴 Pyjama Week at MDECE 😴

🌙 Our children (and Educators) recently enjoyed Pyjama Week, coming to Mater Dei Early Childhood Education dressed in their favourite pyjamas to enjoy plenty of play, learning and laughter.

☺️ With story time, imaginative play, singing, special moments and more, it's been a wonderful way to celebrate the joy of childhood while creating happy memories with our friends.

🧸 Sometimes the best days are the most comfiest!

☕️ Filling Our Cups | Personal Development Day ☕️

🌱 On Monday, our NextPath Assessment & Therapy team enjoyed a meaningful professional development day focused on reflection, connection and support.

🫖 The day began with a reflection morning exploring ‘What fills your cup?’. This gave our team the opportunity to pause and reflect on the things that are important to us. This reflective opportunity was followed by a delicious morning tea.

🏃‍♀️ We then put our teamwork and problem-solving skills into action with our own Amazing Race! It was a great opportunity to collaborate, connect with each other and enjoy some friendly competition.

💜 Days like this are valuable for our team and help us to work together even more effectively to support our incredible clients and families.

🎶 Feeling The Beat Together! 🎶

🕺 Our NextPath Continuous Learning participants and staff, along with therapists from NextPath Assessment & Therapy, were thrilled to attend Mater Dei School, Camden’s Performing Arts Night matinee performance last week. It was an incredible show filled with energy, talent and plenty of memorable moments.

🙌 For some of our NextPath Continuous Learning participants, the show brought back some wonderful memories, having performed in many Performing Arts Nights themselves in the past.

🫶 Across Mater Dei Organisation, all of our programs work closely together each day, supporting and connecting with one another in so many ways. This is just one wonderful example of the close relationships between NextPath Assessment & Therapy, NextPath Continuous Learning and Mater Dei School.

💙 We loved being there to support our Mater Dei School community and see the talented students make the stage their own!

💃 Get Your Groove On With NextPath!

💜 Led by a Physiotherapist and OT, NextPath Assessment & Therapy's fortnightly Dance Group is a fun and engaging way for girls aged 6-12 to learn new skills, make new friends and express themselves through the creative fun of dance!

💃 Do you know a girl who loves to dance?

✨ Our fortnightly Dance Group at NextPath Assessment & Therapy is a fun and supportive place for girls to build confidence, make friends and express themselves through movement.

🤸‍♀️ For girls aged 6–9 and 9–12, every session is led by a Physiotherapist and an Occupational Therapist, and combines dance, creativity and therapeutic support to develop strength, coordination, social skills and more, all while having fun!
