Last night our Co-Founder Steve spoke at Ingleburn Rotary following his recent recognition as the recipient of the Macarthur Rotary Clubs First Responders Award.

Steve shared stories from his 22-year career as a firefighter, along with the journey that led him to helping others through The Broken Path. A powerful reminder that service to the community can continue long after the uniform comes off.

Thank you to Rotary Club of Ingleburn for the opportunity for Steve to share his story and the work being done to support those doing it tough 🧡

Not all heroes wear uniforms - many wear everyday clothes and simply show up to help. 🧡
On National Volunteer Day, we honour the people who show up quietly, consistently, and selflessly for others. Volunteers are the thread that holds communities together, and today we celebrate you.

Today, we celebrate the incredible mums who give so much of themselves every single day. 💐🧡

A special acknowledgment to the amazing mothers who are also our frontline workers—those who spend their days caring for others, supporting our communities, and still come home to love, nurture, and inspire their families. Your strength, resilience, and compassion do not go unnoticed.

To all the mums in our community and beyond—thank you for everything you do, both seen and unseen. You are appreciated more than words can say.

Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at The Broken Path 🧡

Our thoughts are with the Marine Rescue NSW Family 🤍

Last night was the darkest night ever experienced by Marine Rescue NSW.

Marine Rescue NSW volunteers answer the call for help 24/7 and last night six members from Marine Rescue Ballina did just that. They launched with a single mission, to save lives on the water and assist a yacht, reported to be in difficulty off the South Ballina break wall.

Tragically, two of our volunteers lost their lives during the response.

Marine Rescue NSW Commissioner Todd Andrews said the devastating loss is a solemn reminder of the risks faced by volunteers who serve their communities.

“These two men were serving their local community and have made the ultimate sacrifice to help others.

“Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with the families and loved ones of the deceased, their fellow crew members, the brave radio operators who handled the difficult communications during the incident, the entire Marine Rescue NSW family and the wider Ballina community during this incredibly difficult time.

“We are supporting our volunteers and their families through professional counselling and chaplaincy support.

“We ask that the privacy of those involved and their families be respected during this difficult time,” Commissioner Andrews said.

Do you have a local business, and are you keen on golf and supporting your local first responders?

On Thursday the 11th June, Wests Group Macarthur is proudly hosting a Thank a First Responder Golf Day, offering a FREE day of golf for up to 100 invited local first responders, including Police, Ambulance, Fire and Emergency Services at Lakeside Golf Club, Camden.

Teams will be treated to breakfast and a buffet lunch as well as guest speakers from Community organisations doing amazing things for our first responder community - The Broken Path and Steven’s Law Protecting our Frontline Heroes

To help add even more value to the day, a limited number of teams of four are available, for local businesses keen to show their support of the day, through either a cash, or In-kind contribution that gets them the aforementioned team (4 players), hole sponsorship flags, signage, inclusion in bags and a role in the activities in the day, plus more.

If you’re interested in getting involved or would like more information, please contact [email protected] by the 15th May, 2026.
