Cleveland parkrun A free, weekly, timed 5k event every Saturday morning at 7am in Henry Ziegenfusz Park, Cleveland. Everyone is welcome to walk, run or volunteer.

The Course - A lovely 'out and back' course that starts from the NE corner of the park. It heads along the Moreton Bay Cycleway paths for 2.5km before returning to the start. The route passes by Woodland, Grassland, Creeks, Children's play area, Dog Park and even a Duck Pond. There is a 'playful' incline in the middle of the course (see photo) - but nothing too hard! There are some lovely bayside views and vistas. There are a few water fountains en route and toilets are about 300m from the start. (It is the brick hut on the Fitzroy st side of Henry Ziegenfusz Park). parkrun is not a race against other runners, but a 5k timed run and it can really be whatever you want it to be, whether that's for fun or as part of a training plan. Taking part is easy – just register in advance by 6pm on the Friday before your first ever parkrun here. The great thing is that you only ever need to do this once! The cricket club have asked us NOT to park in their carpark, as the season has just started and our starting times are clashing.

There is plenty of parking on Fitzroy Street and neighbouring streets to Island Street. As always please be respectful of our neighbours when arriving and leaving parkrun 🙌🏻

Volunteers please arrive by 6:30am
First timers briefing at 6:45am
Main parkrun brief at 6:50am ish
Ready steady parkrun at 7am

Another fantastic morning at Cleveland parkrun for event #647, with nearly an identical number of participants as last week (236 this morning; 237 last week).

As always, a huge thanks to our fantastic volunteers: Stephen, John, Dusty and Bev, Simon, Sally, Jill, Chante, and Natasha.
We've still got heaps of volunteer opportunities available in the upcoming weeks, so please help out where you can.

As you all would have seen, cricket season started back today.
We have been approached by the Manager of the cricket club to ask that we avoid parking in the cricket club carpark while the season is in full swing, and instead consider parking along Fitzroy Street. The cricket club juniors often have large kit bags and struggling to haul their gear for the longer distances if their families are having to park in the nearby streets. Of course, being mindful of the fact that we are sharing the park, please also avoid the cricket pitch when making your way across the oval.

Some photos have already been uploaded, and the rest will posted during the course of the weekend.

I'm handing over the Run Director vest to Lisa, who will be looking after you all for the next couple of weeks.
