🐦 IT’S THIS WEEKEND!

Sherwood Arboretum - Help us add 300 plants & finish a great project! (8.00am Sunday 18 Oct 2026)

🌳 The Friends of Sherwood Arboretum (FOSA) is seeking ‘green thumbs’, both big and small, to help us turn a bare patch of the Arboretum’s riverbank into a brand-new home for our wildlife this Sunday morning, 18 October.
It’s fun to be part of an enthusiastic Spring community planting bee!
FOSA invites you to join us for this Spring community planting bee with Brisbane Botanic Gardens from 🕐8.00 am to 10.00 am to help our wildlife by adding 300 ground cover plants to the river bank. Those plants also will play an important part in helping reduce the erosion of our riverbank.
Last month, we completed the first stage of this exciting project by planting some 200 ground cover plants, with plenty of time remaining for morning tea to celebrate this great team effort.
With your help, we’re sure we can do even better this Sunday. All you need do is just follow the Arboretum’s main entry pathway from the Jolimont Street car park to the start of the riverside boardwalk. Please look out for our FOSA signs which will guide you to our planting site.
☀️Your comfort and safety are really important to us. Please just bring a hat and water bottle, sunscreen and wear closed shoes. We’ll take care of everything else!
Please do stay for morning tea!
❤️Best wishes, Carole & Liz. Joint Bushcare Coordinators
