Today is , a global initiative for and support. This is also an important day for our community, as epilepsy and seizures are more common in people than the general population. We’re yet to fully understand the connection between epilepsy and autism, but we do know a few things:

🟣 The overall occurrence of epilepsy in people with autism is 12%
🟣 The overall occurrence of autism in people with epilepsy is 9%
🟣 People with autism and intellectual disability are more likely to have epilepsy
