Bhutanese Buddhist & Cultural Center Canberra The Bhutanese Buddhist and Cultural Centre, registered as Druk Namgyel Chhoeling Buddhist centre inc. the 70th Je Khenpo of Bhutan.

Established in 2017 with the blessings of the Central Monastic Body of Bhutan (Zhung Dratshang), the BBCC Canberra is dedicated to preserving Bhutanese culture, fostering Buddhist values, and supporting the Bhutanese community. Australia (DNC) is an incorporated ecumenical Bhutanese Buddhist and cultural centre established under the aegis of H.H. Its core mission is to provide spiritual services t

o the Bhutanese people living in Canberra and to preserve Bhutan national identity in foreign land. These services include private household rituals, organized group teaching and practices, and engagement programmes for children and elderlies including the teaching of Bhutanese language and culture. Objectives
BBCC aka DNC will also work with the RBE, Canberra, ABAC, and other Bhutanese organizations to promote opportunities for the Bhutanese people to maintain their continued ties with our culture and tradition through regularly organizing important national occasions like His Majesty’s Birthday, Birthday of His Majesty the Fourth King, the National Day, and other such significant events. As a spiritual and cultural centre, DNC will also organize ceremonies on important Buddhist and other auspicious days according to the Bhutanese calendar. One of the key objectives of DNC is to work with the RBE, ABAC, and other Bhutanese religious and community organizations in Canberra to initiate a project to build a suitable and ecumenical Bhutanese temple and cultural centre. This Buddhist infrastructure will enable DNC and other community organizations in Canberra to achieve their core missions of ensuring welfare and harmony in the Bhutanese community. It will also serve as a platform for Bhutan and the Bhutanese people to engage with the wider multicultural community in Canberra, Australia’s great capital city.

🙏 Appreciation and Gratitude 🙏

On this auspicious occasion of Trelda Tsechu (Guru Rinpoche’s Birth Anniversary), held on the 10th Day of the Fifth Lunar Month. the Bhutanese Centre extends its heartfelt gratitude to our generous Jindas, Volunteers and the Bhutanese Community.

We would like to thank Tenzin Loday and his wife for generously sponsoring the auspicious occasion. Through their kindness, devotion, and generous support, this sacred occasion was made possible. It has enabled the community to come in to pray, receive blessings, and honour and pay homage to Guru Rinpoche, whose guidance and protection remain deeply cherished by the Bhutanese.

We would also like to thank the volunteers who assisted us through the day and the Bhutanese community who came to pray and receive blessings.

🙏 Celebrating Guru Rinpoche’s Birth Anniversary | གུ་རུ་རིན་པོ་ཆེའི་འཁྲུངས་སྐར་དུས་ཆེན། 🙏

We warmly invite all members of the Bhutanese community, friends, and well-wishers to join us in the sacred celebration of Guru Rinpoche’s Birth Anniversary.

Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava), the Second Buddha, is revered for establishing Vajrayana Buddhism throughout the Himalayan region and for blessing Bhutan as a sacred Beyul (Hidden Land). He concealed many sacred Ters (Treasures) to be discovered by realized Buddhist masters in future generations for the benefit of sentient beings and the preservation of the Dharma. This auspicious day is an opportunity for us to gather in prayer, accumulate merit, receive blessings, and strengthen our spiritual connection while celebrating our rich cultural and spiritual heritage.

Heartfelt Gratitude and Appreciation:

We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Sonam Dorji, Coordinator of the Australian Bhutanese Archery Championship Season IV, for providing BBCC with the opportunity to sell food during the ABA Championship tournament. This opportunity enabled the Centre to raise valuable funds to support its activities and future development.

We would also like to express our heartfelt appreciation to Aum Thinley Dema and Sonam Thinley for their dedication and hard work throughout the tournament. They coordinated the food stall, managed the food preparation, and generously donated their profit of $2,001 and two large cooking pots to the Centre.

Once again, we thank Sonam Dorji for giving this opportunity to BBCC and Aum Thinley Dema and Sonam Thinley for their time, effort, generosity, and unwavering support.

Registration for Chod Tshok Singye Tsewa Teachings and Practice:

We are pleased to announce that His Eminence Tsugla Lopen Rinpoche of the Zhung Dratshang, who is also the Patron of Drukluk Chod Tshok Singye Tsewa, has kindly sent Chod Tshok Lam Tshering Nidup from the Zhung Dratshang to Australia to offer teachings and guidance on Chod Tshok Singye Tsewa for interested devotees.

Chod Tshok Lam Tshering is currently in Brisbane and will be visiting Canberra soon. This presents a rare and valuable opportunity for devotees to learn and practise Chod Tshok Singye Tsewa under the guidance of a qualified teacher from the Zhung Dratshang.

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of our Monthly Tara and Menlha Dungdrup.

This marks the tenth consecutive monthly prayer gathering, and we are deeply thankful to all who came together in prayer and practice for global peace and the wellbeing of all sentient beings.
