CHC Australia welcomes today's announcement from the ACT Government.

A new $364 million Public Housing Pipeline program will deliver 450 new public homes, while a $39 million loan guarantee program is expected to support community housing projects worth around $650 million, unlocking more than 1,000 affordable homes in the ACT.

"This once-in-a-generation investment has the potential to unlock housing supply at a scale the ACT has not seen before, transforming the affordable rental market and delivering meaningful, enduring social and affordable housing for Canberrans."

Construction is officially underway on the Marlowe apartment project in Phillip.

This morning, CHC Australia was joined on site by our project partner Canberra Southern Cross Club; The Hon Clare O'Neil Minister for Housing and Minister for Homelessness; David Smith MP, Member for Bean; and Yvette Berry, Deputy Chief Minister of the ACT, Minister for Homes, Homelessness and New Suburbs, to mark the commencement of a project that will deliver 140 new homes for the Canberra community.

Half of those homes will be affordable build-to-rent dwellings for Canberrans on low to moderate incomes, with priority access for healthcare and community workers near Canberra Hospital, essential workers and veterans.

Marlowe Phillip is supported by the ACT Government through the Affordable Housing Project Fund and the Commonwealth Government via Housing Australia's National Housing Infrastructure Facility Social and Affordable Housing grant. Completion is expected in 2027.

Congratulations to Yerrabi on today's announcement by the ACT Government of $500,000 in support of Yerrabi Yurwang's Housing Australian Future Fund application for building costs of a 29-dwelling townhouse development in Moncrieff, ACT.

The Government is supporting Yerrabi Yurwang to acquire the Moncrieff site with over $3million through the Affordable Housing Project Fund, and CHC Australia welcomes these ACT Government Budget initiatives.
