When something doesn’t feel right, speak up.

If you suspect abuse, neglect, exploitation or inappropriate treatment of an older person or a person with disability, don’t ignore it.

For aged care, concerns can be raised with the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission.

For NDIS participants, concerns can be reported to the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.

As support workers, we have a responsibility to notice, document and report concerns appropriately.

Silence can leave someone vulnerable. Speaking up can protect them.

The Hidden Signs You or Someone May Need Support

Needing support isn’t always obvious.

Some signs to look out for include:
• Missing appointments
• An untidy home that was once well kept
• Unopened mail piling up
• Increased forgetfulness
• Withdrawing from family and friends
• Poor nutrition or an empty fridge
• Reduced confidence leaving the house

Early support can help someone remain independent and improve their quality of life.

Dementia Cards That Make Communication Easier.

Living with dementia can sometimes make everyday situations confusing or overwhelming.

Dementia awareness cards are a discreet way for a person or their carer to let others know they may need a little extra patience and understanding when out in the community.

Whether it’s shopping, visiting the bank, attending appointments or simply ordering a coffee, these cards can help reduce anxiety and encourage kindness.

A little understanding can make a world of difference.

Chillagoe 2026 🤍

We recently escaped to beautiful Chillagoe for some much-needed family time, relaxation and adventure. With no phone service for three days, it was the perfect opportunity to disconnect from technology and reconnect with each other.

We explored the incredible Royal Arch and Mungana Caves, cooled off with swims in the crystal-clear rivers, and enjoyed every moment of quality family time. We also visited the fantastic Ford Museum, run by Tom Prior, which showcases an impressive collection of classic Ford vehicles alongside some newer models. It’s well worth a visit for any car enthusiast.

Chillagoe is a truly magical place, rich in history, surrounded by breathtaking scenery, and filled with natural wonders.

Sometimes the best memories are made when you unplug, slow down, and simply enjoy the people and places around you. If you’re looking for somewhere to reconnect with nature, explore fascinating history, and create lasting family memories, Chillagoe should definitely be on your list.
