Something that naturally happens when we have enough phytoplankton = photosynthesis via either whale p**p or the upwelling that happens on coast lines especially where we have underwater volcanos, or a current that is pushing nutrients up to the surface to create single cell diatoms to develop in the Surface Micro Layer - the most active 1mm in the ocean, if not planet.

Human delivered MCB is a transition solution till we get Marine Protected Areas and other solutions, the MPAs mean no in key nursery areas = off the coastlines of most countries. Which is where they are taking so much fish that local commercial fisherman can't run a profitable business.

Russia and China voted against us having it off our coastline. We only protect 3% of our Oceans, we need 30% and then the ocean can naturally restore a lot of the marine species that eat and p**p to sequester more carbon to the ocean floor. We talk about this more in a citizen science project we're delivering next year.

Ocean David Attenborough's JV movie about how we can save the ocean and ourselves shows that Phytoplankton and Fish are the 2 key species that can help us save the GBR = more fish = eats the algae post a bleaching event, when that happens it gives the coral time to bounce back.

Fish, fish p**p and photosynthesis will help us keep our GBRs. There are 6 identified in the documentary one being Australias.

Being on the panel of RRAP - the $100million ocean research, done without the data of the ocean outside the GBR, weird because it tells you how the Ocean works when you do that, means we get invites to information days like this.

Remember when we had a global pandemic they made record profits.

More than 200 Coles and Woolworths supermarkets would be nationalised, and hundreds of government grocery stores opened, under a $25bn plan being put forward by former Greens MP Max Chandler-Mather.

Channelling New York mayor Zohran Mamdani’s plan for publicly owned grocery stores, Chandler-Mather, the head of the party’s thinktank, the Green Institute, wants to use new forced divestiture laws to take over major supermarket sites and three distribution centres.The government would fund another 424 new supermarkets and 10 distribution centres, taking about 20% of the market share of commercial operators for the new non-profit network.

Chandler-Mather says the new stores – dubbed Fair Go Grocers – would save consumers as much as 22% on the average shop, or $60 a week for a four-person household. Heavy discounts would be put in place for essentials including fruit and vegetables, bread, milk and meat.

Pauline: Your comments are not just ignorant, they are cruel, racist, and profoundly disrespectful.
You reduce Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, the oldest continuing cultures on Earth, to a distorted checklist of European inventions and then use that checklist to claim they “achieved nothing”. That is not serious historical or political analysis. It is narrow-minded bigotry dressed up as a question.
The fact that Indigenous Australians did not develop technologies in the same form as industrial European societies does not mean they lacked intelligence, knowledge, innovation, or civilisation. They developed sophisticated and complex systems of kinship relationships ,land management, agriculture and food production, navigation, astronomy, engineering, medicine, trade, art, law, and environmental knowledge suited to this continent over tens of thousands of years.
You ask “what have they done?” We survived! We adapted to, understood, cared for, and sustained one of the most difficult environments on the planet for millennia. We built complex societies long before Britain invaded this land. Our knowledge is vital and continues to matter now including in fire management, ecology, conservation, culture, language, and science.
And let’s be clear: using phrases such as “the most primitive race on earth” is racist. There is no acceptable historical, scientific, or moral defence for describing an entire people that way. It is an attempt to deny our humanity, our achievements, and our right to be respected in our own country.
You do not get to measure a culture solely by whether it copied European inventions. Different societies developed different tools in response to different contexts, different places, needs, resources, and ways of living. A wheel is not a moral benchmark. Nor is boiling water. Pretending otherwise is incompetent and farcical.
Aboriginal culture and language deserve to be taught because we are part of this country’s history, present, and future. We deserve respect because Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people deserve respect, not because we must first satisfy your narrow, prejudiced definition of “achievement”.
You and those of your racist supporters should be ashamed of repeating these claims.
