On the 25 May, AFL Cape York House welcomed the aviation industry onto our oval.

Nautilus Aviation landed a helicopter on our grounds. Cairns Airport, Aviation Australia, Rex Airlines, MAF International, National Aviation Academy, the Royal Australian Air Force, the Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia and Toll Group came to our students, into our space, and spent the afternoon with them.

Close to 100 of our boys and girls had the chance to meet industry professionals, ask questions, and see what a career in aviation actually looks like up close. Watching our students engage with the people behind these careers was something special.

We are proud to be partnering with Gunggandji Aerospace on the Raising Horizons program here in Cairns. These are the kinds of opportunities we want for our young people: opportunities that see industry showing up for them and showing them how they belong in these spaces.

✨ An evening of purpose, generosity and impact. ✨

Our recent AFL Cape York House Foundation Gala Dinner brought together an incredible community united by a shared commitment to creating brighter futures for young people from remote Cape York communities.

Held at Cazalys Cairns, the evening was filled with inspiring stories, meaningful connections and remarkable generosity. Together, we raised an incredible $127,000 to support educational opportunities, mentoring and pathways for the next generation of Indigenous leaders.

Every moment captured reflects the spirit of the evening, hope, community and a shared belief that every young person deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential.

Thank you to everyone who attended, donated and supported the event. Your generosity will have a lasting impact for years to come. 🤎

What an incredible night at the Gabba supporting the Brisbane Lions 50-50 Charity Raffle! ✨️

Our AFLCY team, alongside an amazing group of volunteers from our partner organisations, took to the stands to raise important funds for AFL Cape York House Foundation. Thanks to the generosity of everyone who purchased a ticket, we are thrilled to have raised an incredible $20,350 to support the young people in our care.

It was fantastic to see so many people come together, generously giving their time and energy to help share our story and support our cause.

We are incredibly grateful to the Brisbane Lions and the 50-50 Charity Raffle team for providing us with this opportunity. Your support of our organisation and the young people we work with is greatly appreciated.

A heartfelt thank you to our friends and partners from AFL Queensland, Pacific Toyota and Rio Tinto, who went above and beyond to be part of the evening and support our cause. Your commitment, generosity and willingness to stand alongside us means more than you know.

And a special thank you to Rio Tinto for providing our branded shirts, helping our team stand out in the crowd throughout the evening.
