🌟 Weekly Round Up - Term 4 Week 3 🌟

🧡 This week Joeys went to ON BELAY CLIMBING and had a great time. It was a fun, adventurous, challenging and inclusive activity, as it catered for everyone from first time climbers to those who were more skilled. Thanks to the parents who helped out with belaying.

💛 Our Cubs and Scouts continued learning First Aid skills this week with Linda from .a.firstaid, who brought along manikins for our youth members to practise their DRSABCD and CPR. Also on the night, one of our cubs presented a Sport & Adventure SIA project about Tennis, then lead a game for the group. Time was also spent reviewing the activities from the past year, and planning activities for next year's program.

🌟 Weekly Round Up - Term 4 Week 2 🌟

🧡 Joeys were visited by Deborah and Alison from the Gold Coast and Hinterland Spinners and Weavers and they learnt how to make their own felt ball. They also did some OAS vertical theory in preparation for rock climbing this term.

💛 Our Cubs and Scouts started the term with practising their Emergency and First aid skills. We had a mock evacuation, talked about emergency services and how/ when to contact them. Our youth members also practised bandaging their buddies and responding to emergency scenarios acted out by our parents.

😄On Saturday, one of our Joeys led their adventurous journey around Palm Beach and Tarrabora Reserve. The journey included bushwalking, activities on the beach and making paper planes.

🍃 On Sunday, we had a small group of Joeys and Cubs attend orienteering at Firth Park, Mudgeeraba. Thanks to Paradise Lost Orienteers Inc. for a fun course.

🌟 Weekly Round Up - Term 4 Week 1 & School Holidays Week 2🌟

⚜️ Joeys had a fun return to Term 4 with a Games night, with Joeys having the opportunity to lead the games. There was also an SIA presentation on the night, all about a costume created by a Joey!

💛 Our cubs and Scouts did not meet this week as there was a Public Holiday.

🙏 During the school holidays, we had a small group of volunteers attend the Spring Clean Up Australia at Federation Walk with of Federation Walk . Thank you for volunteering your time to help clean up this area!

😁 Finally, another big thank you to all our wonderful Burleigh Heads Scout Group families that attended the working bee over the weekend. Our grounds, hall and Camp Kallaroo are looking great!

🌟 Weekly Round Up - Term 3 Week 10 & School Holidays Week 1 🌟

⚜️We held our annual Jambowlree to finish the term. This is a whole group activity where our youth members get to have fun and challenge themselves! This year we also had 3 cubs from Ashmore Scout Group join us

🧭 On Sunday, we had a small group of Joeys and Cubs participate in orienteering with Paradise Lost Orienteers Inc. at Tallebudgera. While the course challenged our cubs a little, both sections enjoyed the opportunity to be in the great outdoors!

🙏 During this week of holidays, our leaders Roo and youth helper Shark have been volunteering their time at Agoonoree - an exciting week-long outdoor camping adventure, giving children with additional needs the chance to experience the joy and excitement of Scouting and Guiding activities.

⛄Also this week, we have 2 cubs and a scout attending the QLD Alpine trip with leaders Lorikeet and Redback - they are all enjoying their time in the snow at Perisher!

🌟 Weekly Round Up - Term 3 Week 9 🌟

🧡 Annually, the Joey section makes feeders for the Tasmanian Devils at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary . Joeys had a lot of messy fun doing papier mache over balloons as part of the community service project. There were even some cubs and a scout that joined in with this activity!

💪Cubs & Scouts had the opportunity to participate in a personal growth activity at IFLY Indoor Skydiving - Gold Coast this week. It was great to see the excitement and courage flowing from our youth members (and the parents who also joined in!).

⚜️ This week we held our ARP - Annual Review Presentation. It was an opportunity to hear what all our sections have been doing over the past year, and for our youth members to tell us what they liked about Scouts. Thank you to our special guest Hermann Vorster MP for attending.

🌟 Weekly Round Up - Term 3 Week 8 🌟

🧡 Joeys presented SIA projects to the group this week, including one about coding. Next our Joeys practised their OAS skills including fire safety and striking matches.

⚜️ Cubs also started the night with two SIA presentations. First, we learnt about capillary action - the theory behind one of our science experiments earlier this term. Next, we were treated to a dance that two of our cubs had choreographed together. Afterwards, we had three bases to practise our OAS skills and knowledge: knots, compass directions and bearings, and cycling.

🌳 Over the weekend, we had a small group attend Koala tree planting at Coombabah - thank you for helping to provide a habitat for our furry friends 🐨

🚴This was followed by a 10km cycle around the Coombabah Lakelands area.
