You've heard the saying “It takes a village…” Well, pulling off the 2026 Bungendore Show took an entire army of wonderful volunteers, and what an extraordinary community effort it was!
Bungendore CWA was proud to be there alongside our friends from Bungendore Rotary, Community Bank, Bungendore Pre School, Bungendore Scouts and so many other community organisations, all rolling up their sleeves to make the day a success.
A HUGE congratulations to the Bungendore Show Society — WHAT AN ACHIEVEMENT!!!
The 2026 Bungendore Show was an outstanding success and a wonderful reminder of what makes our little community so special.
To our incredible CWA members who baked cakes, prepared food, stewarded, cleaned, served customers, made endless cups of tea and coffee, whipped cream and did a hundred other jobs behind the scenes — THANK YOU!
Some gave hours, others gave days, and everyone gave generously of their time, energy and talents. A bigger thank you to CWA judges who came from near and afar to judge The Pavillion. Your expertise is unparalleled and you support and feedback ensures a high quality in the exhibits.
And that's what community is all about. Not just fundraising or putting on an event, but the friendships, laughter, camaraderie and connections that happen when people come together for a common purpose.
We worked hard, we had plenty of laughs, and we had such a wonderful day!
Bungendore, you really are something special!

A Champion of Rural Women Pops Up at the Bungendore Show!
One of the lovely surprises at this year's Bungendore Show was meeting the wonderful Mary Hollingworth, a tireless champion of rural women, community connection and the Country Women's Association.

Fresh from the 2026 NSW Rural Women's Gathering in Narrabri, Mary was straight back into action, this time putting her considerable experience to work as a judge at our local Show!

Mary is something of a legend in rural women's circles. A passionate advocate for the NSW Rural Women's Network, an experienced CWA Land Cookery and Handicraft Judge, and the 2023 NSW Community Hero of the Year, she has spent decades bringing women together, encouraging leadership and strengthening rural communities.

What makes Mary so special is her belief in the power of ordinary women doing extraordinary things simply by coming together.
And isn't that exactly what CWA is all about?

Friendship, connection, sharing skills, supporting one another and using our collective voice to make our communities stronger. From the Rural Women's Gathering to the judging tables at Bungendore Show, Mary embodies the wonderful spirit of rural women who just keep showing up, contributing and making a difference.

It was an absolute delight to see you in Bungendore, Mary! Thank you for everything you do for rural women and for continuing to champion the traditions, friendships and community spirit that make our country shows so special.

The judging is complete, the ribbons are in place and the very best of Bungendore is ready to shine!

Our judges have been thoroughly impressed, with one declaring the rhubarb the best she'd ever seen! Now that's something to celebrate! And the fruit and vegetable sculptures? They've certainly captured the imagination! From clever creations to wonderfully quirky characters, they're sure to delight visitors of all ages. And don't forget to pop into the CWA Tea Rooms!

The wonderful women of Bungendore CWA will be serving up a delicious country-style high tea, with a sandwich selection, homemade cakes, sweet treats and, of course, a lovely cuppa!

Pull up a chair, enjoy a little country hospitality and catch up with friends. After all, a country show wouldn't be quite the same without the CWA!

Come along to the Bungendore Show tomorrow and celebrate the talent, creativity, fabulous produce and wonderful community spirit that make Bungendore so special.

🌿 Notice of CWA Bungendore AGM 🌿

You are warmly invited to our Annual General Meeting on Sunday 18 October.

Our usual October meeting will begin at 10 am, followed by the AGM.

It is a lovely time to get involved with the CWA. We are a welcoming and active group, proud of the work we do in our community and always happy to see new faces.

We would love you to join us as we celebrate the start of a new CWA year.

Announcing the new CWA of NSW topics for 2027. Our International Committee chooses a different country each year to research, to learn more about the world around us.

While our Agricultural & Environmental Committee chooses an Australian fauna and flora encouraging members to discover more about some of our native species. A foe is also chosen to bring awareness to negative impacts on the environment and a Primary Product helps promote Australian grown produce.

Recipients are paired up by Rural Doctors Network and spend two weeks on a placement in country NSW during their university holidays. The placement aims to provide a rural immersion experience by combining the enjoyable aspects of country life and rural medicine.
