VOLUNTEERS NEEDED.

UGLN are calling out for skilled and unskilled volunteers to assist us with our Fire Recovery fencing project - Fencers Without Boundaries.

Experience in fencing would be helpful but not essential as a lot of the initial work is removing the burnt and damaged fencing.

Protective equipment, water and lunches are provided.

The Dabyminga Landcare Group will be gathering again this coming Sunday, the 23rd of November.
Meeting at 10 am at the Tallarook Arboretum (opposite the Tallarook Mechanics Institute) for a working bee, followed by lunch at 12 pm and then the AGM.

The committee is made up of volunteers, who would welcome new members, and up for grabs are the positions of President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary.

What to bring? Arms for raising to volunteer, gardening tools for weeding, pruning, etc., and a plate of food to share.

Join us to meet the locals, do some meaningful work at the Arboretum and enjoy lunch with the crew.

Looking forward to seeing you there!

Check out this Landcare field trip in Romsey on the 5th of October, brought to you by the Upper Plenty Merri Catchments Landcare Group.
Join us for a guided walk at Moffitts Farm to see first hand how planting native trees and increasing biodiversity can improve farm productivity, animal wellbeing, and the environment. Julie and her father Patrick will share their experience transforming the property from low productivity pasture into a thriving, carbon-positive farm with rich wildlife habitat and low-stress livestock systems.

Explore wildlife corridors, agroforestry blocks, and innovative fencing; learn about long rotation grazing, soil health, and low-cost, practical approaches to land management. See how “Comfortable Farming” creates a balance that works for farmers, livestock, wildlife, and the broader community.
