Get ready, bookworms! 📚 It's that wonderful time of the year again when the Bracken Ridge Girl Guides are bringing back the magic of the Annual Book Bazaar! 🌟📖 Our hut will be filled with an incredible collection of books waiting for new homes.

We are looking to refresh our collection so if anyone has any books that they would kindly like to donate to this, please get in touch.
Unfortunately we aren't accepting magazines or cookbooks this year (we have so many already!). Any donations can be dropped down on a Wednesday evening from 6pm - 8pm or by arrangement at other times (dependent on leaders availability).

So come on down Saturday, August 22nd, because from 9 AM to 1 PM, we're turning McPherson Park on Tomah Road into a paradise for book lovers. 🌳📚 Whether you're into mysteries, romance, fantasy, or non-fiction, we've got something that will tickle your literary taste buds. 📚✨

We also will be open Sunday, 23rd 9am to 2pm while the park host the Back Yard Bonaza with food trucks, stalls, free ridges and much more.

So gather your fellow book enthusiasts, spread the word, and make your way to McPherson Park, Tomah Road, Bracken Ridge on 22nd and 23rd. Let's celebrate the joy of reading, score amazing books, and help support your local Girl Guides who make it all possible. See you there, book lovers! 📚❤️

Today we celebrate all the incredible women in the world 💐

You don’t have to give birth to a child to be a mother.
Mothers come in many forms — step mums, foster mums, adoptive mums, aunties, grandmothers, carers, mentors and the women who simply nurture and care for others every single day ❤️

Today we also send extra special love to the mums carrying the heartbreak of losing a child. Thinking of you today and always 🕊️

We are so lucky to have so many amazing mums within our Bracken Ridge Girl Guides family and today we celebrate each and every one of you 🌸

A MASSIVE shoutout to Wildtrak Offroad Offgrid for hooking us up with an absolutely awesome discounted donation of camp mess sets for the girls 🙌🍽️

Safe to say these are going to get a serious workout on upcoming camps/campfire nights! The rest of the goodies were snapped up by our leaders to keep the leaders comfy while adventuring — and as always, Wildtrak Offroad Offgrid has looked after us every step of the way.

We’re feeling very lucky (and very well equipped!) — thank you so much 💙🏕️

Mark your calendars for Saturday, August 23rd, because from 9 AM to 1 PM, we're turning McPherson Park on Tomah Road into a paradise for book lovers. 🌳📚 Whether you're into mysteries, romance, fantasy, or non-fiction, we've got something that will tickle your literary taste buds. 📚✨
After the huge success of last year's "spin to win" wheel, we have it back with some great new prizes! Every spin wins! At $2 a spin - it's another great bargain! (there are also some prizes I'm sure adults would love too!)
But that's not all! The excitement continues on Sunday, August 24th, when Bracken Ridge Lions Club are hosting their annual BYB (Backyard Bonanza), Mcpherson Park. We will open the hut up again for those attending this fantastic family day for even more book bargains, and more opportunities to find your next reading adventure!
And the best part? Most books are only $2 each! 🤑📚 It's a steal that you can't afford to miss. Plus, by joining us, you're not only grabbing incredible deals but also supporting your local Girl Guides. 🌸🌟

A massive shout out to Sandy, Simi & Guru who own Guru’s Cafe & Seafood at Bracken Ridge Plaza. As well our our local legend Rod who kindly picked them all up and dropped them to the hut. The cafe has done an upgrade and have kindly donated chairs, tables and other bits and pieces to our group.

Their very kind donation will make such a huge difference.
Our old chairs were falling apart and these ones all stack neatly and are lightweight (and most importantly comfortable!)

Will be so good to start next term off with these new chairs!

**If there are any local electricians who might be also able to help us out fitting a new stove into our kitchen, please reach out. Our old stove keeps tripping the power box and we have been donated a new one - just have to get it fitted!**

Thanks to our girls - you are what keeps us coming back each week. You are amazing young women and we can't wait to see what you bring to the group in 2025. Thank also to the parents who bring them every week and support us when we need it.

Whatever you're doing tonight, stay safe and look after yourself and those around you. Here's to new challenges and exciting adventures ahead!
