The Box Hill Hand Spinners and Weavers is a non-profit making group of more than fifty women and men, who are subsidised by the Council of the City of Whitehorse. Members meet weekly in the Community Arts Centre to share their knowledge in spinning, weaving and allied crafts. Members and newcomers are encouraged to develop their skills through discussion, demonstrations, tutorials and workshops. T
he group meets at the Arts Centre on Wednesday evenings and Thursdays. Over the years, the group has had successful entries in the Woolcraft Show in both group and individual categories. Workshops are held in dyeing, felting, crochet and presentation of finished work. Throughout the year the group involves itself in community activities and has an ongoing commitment to charities. The Box Hill Hand Spinners and Weavers also have an annual exhibition at the Arts Centre. The Community Arts Centre is at 470 Station Street, Box Hill, Victoria, 3128.
