Par for a Heart - Blackheath Charity Golf Day

❤️‍🩹On Tuesday 27th of January, we had the opportunity to meet with & present our big cheque to the dedicated employees at the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute & the Heart Centre for Children at Westmead Children’s Hospital.

It was an honour to have a private tour of the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute by Professor Jamie Vandenberg.

Professor Vandenberg is recognised internationally as an expert in cardiac electrophysiology, particularly for his research on cardiac ion channels and the molecular basis of inherited and drug-induced cardiac arrhythmias, like Long QT.

Thank you again to everyone who supported & donated to our cause. Together we have made a significant contribution to the research & awareness, of Long QT & other inherited heart conditions.

❤️‍🩹Last Friday on the 14th of November, we had an incredible day at Blackheath Golf Course for our inaugural “Par for a Heart Golf Day”

The day was beyond our wildest dreams!!

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, sponsors, players and volunteers, we have together, raised $24,023!

This money will go to the Heart Centre for Children at Westmead Children’s Hospital & to the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute, it will support this very important cause.

A heartfelt thank you to the wonderful team from Sydney Children’s Hospital for travelling to Blackheath after their work day so that Professor Jonathan Skinner could deliver his insightful presentation on Long QT Syndrome. Your commitment and generosity of time made the afternoon truly special.

We were so fortunate to have the brilliant Rae Johnston as our MC, who kept our event flowing with energy and warmth.

None of this would have been possible without the incredible support of the Blackheath Golf Club – thank you for hosting us so beautifully!

We are very proud sponsors of the being held in Blackheath today ❤️

This beautiful little boy has been through a lot to get to his diagnosis of Long QT Syndrome, a very rare heart rhythm disorder, which can lead to fainting, seizures, or, in some cases, sudden death.

His gorgeous parents have put together this event today to raise awareness about inherited heart conditions and highlight their impact on individuals and families.

Hoping that today’s event goes super well and that this can become an annual fundraiser for this very important cause ❤️
