🍎 Food can be one of the most practical ways to support your body and mind while living with cancer.

Food can impact how we feel, think and cope, especially during or after treatment. It can influence inflammation, energy, mood and focus, often through the powerful link between the gut and the brain.

As part of our Living Thriving Mindfully program, Cancer Wellness Support’s nutrition sessions turn evidence into everyday support. You’ll learn realistic meal frameworks and simple strategies for common treatment and recovery challenges like fatigue, nausea and taste changes.

It’s a confronting reality.

When a cancer diagnosis arrives, life can quickly feel like a storm — filled with appointments, unfamiliar language and overwhelming uncertainty.

In our latest blog, we share the story of Mousa and his journey from diagnosis through treatment, and how discovering Cancer Wellness Support became a turning point.

For Mousa, walking through the doors of our Wellness Centre offered more than therapies... It offered calm, care and a sense of being held during one of the most demanding periods of his life.

From the first warm welcome, to tailored support through complementary therapies and group sessions, the experience became a steady anchor in the midst of change.

His story is a powerful reminder that support doesn’t replace medical care, it complements it, helping people feel less alone, more supported, and gently grounded through every stage of the cancer journey.

We’re so excited to share that we’ve officially stepped into our new Wellness Centre in Penrith and we can’t wait to welcome you in.

This next chapter represents so much more than a new space. It’s about creating a warm, supportive environment where people living with cancer - and the carers who walk alongside them - can feel safe, seen and cared for.

Every detail has been thoughtfully considered to ensure this space feels calm, welcoming and truly centred around the people who need it most.

We’re looking forward to taking you behind the scenes as we bring the space to life and to continuing to grow the support we offer for our Penrith community.

Complementary therapies can play a powerful role alongside medical care, supporting people living with cancer to manage stress, fatigue, pain and emotional wellbeing — and to feel supported through every stage of their experience.

In fact, up to two-thirds of people living with cancer in Australia use some form of complementary therapy yet many face barriers to access, with cost being one of the most significant.

Today, we celebrate the mothers, mother figures and carers who give so much of themselves — with strength, kindness and love.

To the mums caring for loved ones,
the mums navigating their own cancer journey,
those supporting from the sidelines,
and those holding families together in the quiet, everyday moments — we see you, and we honour you.

Mother’s Day can hold many emotions — joy, reflection, gratitude, and sometimes tenderness too.
