Next Saturday Sept 5th from 10am-1pm is our monthly bakesale raising money for three important Palestinian organisations - The Sameer Project, Olive Kids and Thamra. It's been over a year since our volunteers started this tradition and we're really proud of what they produce every month! If you'd like to contribute, bring some baked goods along next Friday or Saturday morning - sweet or savoury, all yummy things welcome!

And join in on our farm tour to learn about what we do and why. Meet at 11am at the shop!

Learn how to make Miso with Maki of Neighbour's Pantry 🫙🌱

Maki’s 91 year old grandma makes her own miso from scratch every year. She has been making it for 70 years since she married Maki’s grandpa. She works with the seasons, making it at the end of summer, or more recently making it in autumn when the summer has been too long and warm.
Maki "I grew up eating my grandma’s miso and finally had the opportunity to make it with her in her hometown of Kumamoto in 2019. I’ve helped her several times since then, learning her techniques and making my own miso here in Australia as well. My grandma is also actively involved in helping her community learn how to make miso and everyone is invited to get involved. I want to do the same here in Melbourne and keep the tradition alive."
During the workshop Maki will share her knowledge of Miso and guide you step by step through the process. You'll go home with a jar of Miso and lots to tell your friends.

On August 1 it will mark 1 year of bake sales at the farm, and we don't plan on stopping 🍰💕

Our bakesale last month was one of our biggest yet.. raising over $1,200 for the 3 Palestinian organizations: Thamra, Olive Kids and the Sameer Project. 💸

📢 There were sticky date puddings, 2 tier iced cakes, focaccia, pastries, cookies, yummy fruity things.. savoury, sweet, gf, df and vegan.

Let's keep up the momentum and raise some significant money - get your book club, your grandparents, your neighbours, lovers and enemies to come along or get baking!

Baked goods with ingredients lists can be dropped at the farm on Friday (between 7-3) or Saturday before 10am.

This year Farm Raiser introduced a food vouchers system, so that people in our neighbourhood who are struggling to put food on the table can access fresh, healthy veggies, and our farmers are paid fairly. This means both the fund and food stays within the community.
We really need your help to keep feeding our community this winter.

I don't know if you heard the rumours ..

But they are true. Yes, there were sticky date puddings with hot butterscotch sauce (from a thermos) at the June bake sale.

There were also heaps of df, gf and vegan friendly things.. both sweet and savoury. 🍰🥐🥖

What could the July bake sale have in store?? Come along and find out and raise money for the 3 great causes we support each month.

You can also wander around the farm or join the 11am tour.

If you would like to contribute a baked thing please do! Drop off Friday all day or Saturday before 10am with an ingredient list 💕
