A big shout out to Dave and Jamie from Timeless Kitchens, who are working alongside Mick Anderson from Kenwood Homes to deliver a brand new kitchen for VivaLife.

The new kitchen is being designed with accessibility at its heart, creating a practical and inclusive space that will support greater independence for our clients while also being a valuable asset for support workers and staff.

A huge thank you to Dave, Jamie and Mick for your time, expertise and ongoing support. We are grateful to have local businesses supporting what we do, and we can’t wait to see the finished kitchen.

"The Hidden World of Huntington's Disease" is our latest exhibit at Gallery Viva.

Huntington’s disease is a progressive inherited neurological condition that affects movement, thinking, emotions and daily functioning. Each child of an affected parent has a 50 per cent chance of inheriting the condition. Despite advances in research, many people living with Huntington’s disease continue to experience misunderstanding and social isolation.

Alison Weir, Head of Business Development & Fundraising at Huntington’s Australia, said the exhibition provides an opportunity for the community to hear directly from people living with Huntington’s disease.

"Hidden World of Huntington’s Disease gives people living with Huntington’s disease the opportunity to tell their own stories in their own words. We hope the exhibition increases understanding of Huntington’s disease and helps people see beyond the diagnosis to the individual."

A powerful national photographic exhibition is coming to Cafe VIVA

Hidden World of Huntington's Disease is a photovoice project by researchers at Edith Cowan University and is now touring nationally. The exhibition offers a unique opportunity to better understand Huntington's Disease through the voices of those who live it every day.

This free exhibition invites our community to learn more, challenge misconceptions and connect with the people behind the diagnosis. Opening this Thursday, August 20.

Australia is having an important conversation about disability employment.

The Grattan Institute's report, Opening Doors: Better Jobs and Fairer Wages for Disabled Workers, published last month highlights the challenges that continue to exist across the disability employment system, including the fact that some Australians with disability can still be legally paid well below award wages under existing arrangements.

At Vivability, we have chosen a different path.

Our social enterprises demonstrate that meaningful employment and fair pay can go hand in hand.

Across our social enterprises, people living with disability are employed at full award wages because we believe people should be fairly paid for the value they create.

We're proud to share our new video, showcasing the people, purpose and impact behind our social enterprises.

While the sector continues to debate what the future should look like, we're focused on demonstrating what is possible today and helping lead the conversation on inclusive employment.

A sincere thank you to Grant from GT Digital Productions, who generously donated his time and expertise to produce this film in support of Vivability and our mission. We are incredibly grateful for your support.

We hope you enjoy the video.

Did you know?

From 1 July 2026, all Supported Independent Living (SIL) providers must be registered with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission. The change is part of national reforms to strengthen quality, safety and accountability across the NDIS.

Vivability is a registered NDIS provider, with Supported Independent Living accommodation available now.

Our modern, comfortable homes support people with disability to live as independently as possible while building everyday living skills and working towards their personal goals. We offer shared homes and individualised living arrangements to suit a range of needs.

Contact Vivability today to learn more about our current accommodation opportunities and how we can support you.
