🕯️ Candlelight Vigil for Nepal Flood Victims 🇳🇵

We invite everyone in our community to come together for a candlelight vigil following the devastating floods in Nepal.

Friday, 4 September 2026
Time: 5:15 PM
Bathurst Memorial, Kings Parade

We will gather to light candles and observe a moment of silence for those who lost their lives, while standing together with the families and communities affected by this tragedy. Please feel welcome to bring a candle and join us.

In remembrance of the lives lost.

🇳🇵NEPAL FLOOD RELIEF APPEAL 🙏

In response to the devastating floods and natural disaster in Nepal, Bathurst Nepalese Community (BNC) strongly encourages everyone who is able to donate DIRECTLY to the official Prime Minister’s Natural Disaster Relief Fund – Government of Nepal.

We have also received enquiries from local businesses, community groups who wish to contribute but may prefer an Australian bank transfer.

MEET HARI

He weighs 1.8 tonnes.
He spends most of his day eating, and resting.
And he represents a species once on the brink of extinction.

Taronga Zoo’s newest arrival, four-year-old rhino Hari, has moved from Dubbo and is now settling into his new home at Taronga Zoo, quickly becoming a standout attraction.

For our community here in Bathurst, it’s great to see this iconic species , found in Nepal , getting so much attention and recognition. ❤️

If you’re heading to Sydney, it’s definitely worth visiting and seeing Hari in person.
