OBJECTIVES
1. Securing long term funding to service the needs of the community
2. Protect, enhance and restore indigenous biodiversity
4. Re-establish healthy waterways
5. Provide educational opportunities for landholders in the district
6. To engage new members and re-engage existing members
7. Eliminate or control pest plants and animals
8. Source and translate scientific data and disseminate it in useable forms
9. Maintaining Landcare Ethics & Community Relationships
10. Mitigating the effects of soil erosion to improve the land productivity and water quality
11. Promote Landcare in schools
12. Develop, embrace, engage and encourage active participation of young people within the community
13. Promote practices that develop healthy soils

Biosecurity: For a better Bass Coast.

Featuring staff from Agriculture Victoria and Bass Coast Landcare Network.

Protect your livestock, your farm and your business with practical biosecurity measures you can put into action.

Topics will include:
-Livestock production assurance (LPA) requirements
-Information session on awareness and reporting guidelines of H5NI Avian Influenza
-Managing risks when buying feed and livestock
-Safe disposal of deceased livestock
-Practical on-farm biosecurity measures
-What to include in your biosecurity kit

BCLN is looking for casual staff to help our Nursery team during the propagation season at Bass. If you are available from November through to February for 4 hour shifts Tuesdays through to Thursdays to help pot up and prick out, please send through your CV to [email protected]

Great opportunity to come plant at a great farm with over 100000 plants in the ground. Last Community planting this year

Join us this Saturday for an infill planting at Charles' place. This stunning property is ready for 3,000 more native plants, which are helping to reduce erosion, improve biodiversity and improve water quality. We'd love to see you there!

Well done to all , looks fantastic

Last year, we granted $10,000 to the Bass Coast Landcare Network for a Community Training Nursery in Bass and we are thrilled to see the progress! Says Lisa Wangman from BCLN, 'The construction of this new purpose-built training nursery is such a boost to the River Garden in Bass, helping our school groups, River Garden Little kids programs, and volunteers to collect and store seed, and learn how to grow indigenous plants and veggies in our growing programs.' We are so proud to help plant the seeds for the next generation of local growers 😊 🌳🍀
