❤️ THANK YOU FOR YOUR AMAZING SUPPORT ❤️

A huge thank you to our community, local businesses and supporters for your incredible generosity in supporting the Haus Pikinini Orphanage Appeal.

Thanks to your overwhelming response, the shipping container is now full of donated items and ready to be shipped to Haus Pikinini Orphanage in Wau, Papua New Guinea. The container is packed with clothing, school supplies, bedding, toys, sporting equipment, furniture, kitchenware and many other much-needed items that will help improve the lives of children and families supported by the orphanage.

At this stage, we do not require any more donations. The good news is that we will be filling another container next month and will let everyone know when donations are being accepted again.

Together, we have filled a container with hope. ❤️

President Chilly had the pleasure of presenting Col Lee with the NSW Premier’s Flood Emergency Citation.

The citation recognises those who played a direct role in responding to the devastating NSW floods. As our Rotary Club Flood Coordinator, Col provided outstanding leadership, helping coordinate support and assistance across our community during one of its most challenging times.

Congratulations Col on this well-deserved recognition. The award reflects not only your leadership, but also the dedication and commitment of all our Rotary members who stepped forward to help when the community needed it most.

Following our support of The Boaty Boys' 350km Against the Wind Challenge, we recently came together to celebrate the success of the event and present a cheque to Napcan to support the ongoing development of the Love Bites respectful relationships education program.

The ride raised awareness of Domestic and Family Violence while generating funds for two important organisations. Funds raised will support DV Safe Phone, which provides repurposed mobile phones to people escaping domestic and family violence, while a $15,000 donation to NAPCAN will help develop resources for parents of young people participating in Love Bites in local schools.

It was wonderful to hear from Grant and Carlo from the Boaty Boys about their incredible journey, along with Marguerite from NAPCAN, who shared how the donation will help strengthen and expand the program's impact.

We were also joined by sponsors Cherry Street Sports Ballina Directors Christine, Bruce and Colin, and Stacey from Lady Elliot Island Eco Resort, whose generous prize donation helped contribute to the fundraiser's success.

Thank you to everyone who supported the ride, donated, volunteered, sponsored, or helped spread the message. Together we are helping create safer communities through education, awareness and prevention.

Rotary Fires Up the BBQ for World No To***co Day

We had a great time at the Bullinah Aboriginal Health Service's World No To***co Day event on Friday 29 May.

After weeks of wet weather, the sun finally shone, creating the perfect backdrop for a fantastic day of culture and community. The event featured live music, workshops, information stalls, and plenty of opportunities for people to come together in a positive and welcoming environment.

It was wonderful to see so many people enjoying the day and supporting the message of living smoke and v**e free.

Thanks to the team at Bullinah Aboriginal Health Service for hosting such a successful community event and for the important work they do throughout the year.
