Community spirit in action! 👏

Biala CEO, Lisa Smith and Head of Education, Kath Ellis were delighted to attend the Ballina Lions Ballina 74th Changeover Dinner on Saturday night, where Biala School was honoured to receive a donation alongside other local organisations including Marine Rescue Ballina, Our Kids RDA Ballina & District and Wardell Rural Fire Brigade.

Pictured with Sharon Cadwallader, Councillor Ballina Shire Council Lion Peter Dean, Sharon Clark and Captain Sam Walls, the evening was a powerful reminder of the impact community service can have. What makes the Ballina Lions Club’s contribution even more remarkable is that their membership numbers are just 14 dedicated volunteers, yet they donated almost $40,000 this year to local and international causes through initiatives such as recycling programs, community BBQs, gift wrapping and countless hours of service.

Thank you, Ballina Lions, for the extraordinary difference you make in our community. Your impact proves that a small group of committed people can achieve amazing things. If you’ve ever thought about giving back, the Lions would love to welcome new members or Friends of Lions to help continue this incredible work. 💙🦁

Today, staff and student of Biala School came together in the Ballina town centre to honour and remember those who have served and sacrificed for our country.

Our students and staff showed great respect and pride as they took part in the ANZAC Day commemorations, reflecting on the courage, resilience, and mateship that define this important day.

We are proud to support our community in remembering the past and recognising the contributions of those who came before us.

Lest we forget.
