With spring in our sights, things are getting busy in the veggie growing department. We’re focusing on organic, heirloom varieties, that we can’t wait to share. We are especially excited to be growing some veg from seed supplied through the SLA Local Food Group seed swappers network.

Morning veggie growers! We have a couple of interesting new hardy, perennial veg varieties in stock for you. First is this American Upland Cress, a frost-hardy edible ground cover. Second is ‘Sea Beet’, and old-world spinach, grown from seed supplied by local seed-savers. Both will add some pep to a salad, soup or stew. Internal taste trials are giving ‘double thumbs up!’

Also out for sale this week are: Black Toscana Kale, Choi sum, Blue lake climbing beans, chives, lettuce (Great Lakes & Rosa di Trento), silver beet ‘Ruby Red’, spring onion, purple broccolini, beetroot and Viking Spinach.

We prioritise growing from Australian suppliers of organic seed, and now our local seed-savers network!

ATG nursery open today (Sat) until 1pm, 9-4pm weekdays. 80 Mann St Armidale.

This Project received funding through the
Landscape Resilience Program of the
Foundation for National Parks & Wildlife.

As a community-based nursery, ATG is the grateful beneficiary of another charity, the Foundation for National Parks & Wildlife, who provide us with a subsidy for endemic plants we propagate for environmental restoration work undertaken.

With the data we provide, FNPW map ecological rehabilitation including the species and numbers propagated.
This is a vital task for an NGO whose mission is to safeguard our wilderness and wildlife for future generations.

A total of 1520 seedlings in this planting.
