NEMAS NEMAS is a re-enactment society based in Armidale NSW Australia. Hosts of the biennial Easter Gathering, a dark age event held in the Armidale Pine Forest.

The New England Medieval Arts Society (NEMAS) is an historical re-enactment group, who bring to the larger community an understanding of European culture, especially arts and crafts from the Dark Ages, through living history shows. The majority of our members choose to re-enact Vikings or Saxons from the 8th-10th C, although we cover all time periods from biblical to high medieval. NEMAS, for the

past 27 years, has hosted several events, the most prominent is the biennial Easter Gathering which brings together around 400 Australian, New Zealand and International Dark Age reenactors in the largest reenactor-only dark age event in the Southern Hemisphere. Our members are situated all over Australia and New Zealand. We also feature at other events such as the Viking Village Solstice, Abbey Medieval Festival, the Glen Innes Celtic Festival, The Conference and many other happenings across Australia. NEMAS specialises in duelling and mass combat battle displays with a variety of real steel weapons. We also have individual members who have rediscovered forgotten arts and crafts which are available for public presentation such as woodworking, blacksmithing, tanning, spinning, weaving, arms and armour construction, story telling, dramatic arts, period music, fire breathing and entertainment, feasting and much more. We have multiple members with extensive knowledge on many medieval periods and we can perform a range of these at your school show or lesson, wedding, birthday or any other event. Please consider NEMAS for your next dose of traditional medieval culture. Our public group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/99178220703/
