Last night, we said farewell to our wonderful RYE student, Sara.

It is hard to believe that she arrived 11 months ago as a very quiet, softly spoken young girl from France. She has grown so much over the last 12 months and is now a very confident and well-spoken young woman who has experienced and achieved so much in her time here.

Some of those personal achievements include receiving an award in woodwork at James Fallon High School, coming 3rd in the Nail Can Hill run, running 18 km around Uluru, making lifelong friends, and becoming a new daughter for her three host families. These are just a few of a very long list of memories to take back home to France.

She epitomises what it means to be a RYE student, and we are very sad to say goodbye. We hope you come back soon!

A few words of thanks to those that have supported Sara over the last 12 months.
A big thank you to all of Sara's host families, the Anstis family, the Barry family and the Hunter family. We thank you for your love and support of Sara throughout the year. Without you, this program would not be as successful as it is.

Thank you to the staff and students at James Fallon High School for welcoming Sara and allowing her to learn at an Australian school, with subjects very different from those she is used to.

๐Ÿ’œ Donor Spotlight ๐Ÿ’œ

This week we are proud to recognise and celebrate Rotary Club of Albury NSW and their incredible commitment to Tots2Teens.

Over the past three years, Rotary has generously donated $30,000 to support the rent of our shopfront, The Nest.

Without this support, we would not be able to keep our doors open and maintain the safe, welcoming space that so many children and families rely on as they rebuild their lives after experiencing domestic and family violence.

Behind every open door is a community that cares and Rotary has demonstrated that time and time again. Their ongoing support helps us provide stability and hope during some of life's most challenging moments.

We are deeply grateful for Rotary Club of Albury NSW's generosity, partnership and belief in the work we do.

Thank you for helping us keep our doors open for the families who need it most ๐Ÿ’œ

Last Wednesday afternoon a few of us went to visit the Days for Girls Albury Central NSW AUS Team at their monthly get together at the Mirrambeena community centre. We have been supporting this group for a few years now so it was a great opportunity to visit and see first hand the quality of the kits they are putting together.

The industrious team were busy preparing and assembling the DfG kits. We were able to see the whole process at the various work stations.

The Days for Girls (DfG) Pad is a washable, reusable, beautiful menstrual health product thatโ€™s built to last. Their patented design, which includes a protective shield and absorbent liner, is backed by the latest menstrual health research and a decade of feedback from women around the world. It is a truly sustainable solution that people with periods can count on month after month, for up to three years.

Thank you for the cuppa and the chance to meet some of the team. and for the work you do. They are always on the lookout for new members so get in contact. The great thing is that there are jobs for everyone not just the sewers.

RCA hosted another amazing guest speaker on Monday night, Deb from DKiK - Debโ€™s Kids in Kenya gave an emotionally charged presentation on the reality of living and support children in Kenya. While it has been an extraordinary journey over 16 years with probably more lows than highs, Deb has returned home with the boys under challenging conditions to start over again.
The Club proudly supports DKiK and the ongoing support of children in Kenya.
Great work Deb thanks for the honest insight provided to members.

On Sunday 3rd May - the local charity Make Me Mobile held a fund raiser luncheon to officially hand over the first of hopefully many โ€œVansโ€ fitted out for wheelchair access. The Ruggi family were the very grateful recipients.
The Rotary Club of Albury is a proud supporter of MMM and have financially assisted the vehicle purchase.
An inspiring luncheon, with personal experience stories, guest speakers and details of the Cans For Vans campaign.
Well done Peter, Josh and Desiree.
