We are pleased to announce Keynote Speaker Major General John (Doc) Watson, CSC, will be presenting at the upcoming Global Information Summit Australia 2026 (21-24 July at Adelaide Oval).

As a Senior Officer, Major General John (Doc) Watson, CSC has served as Director Joint Cyber, Director General Joint Information Warfare, and most recently as the Deputy of Operations, United States Cyber Command - the first non-United States officer to do so. Currently, he is the Commander of ADF Cyber Command.

Vice Admiral Jones is a Principal Warfare Officer with dual specialisations in surface warfare and advanced navigation. He has served in patrol boats, guided missile destroyers, guided missile frigates, amphibious assault ships, and combat support ships. He assumed responsibilities as the seventh Chief of Joint Operations on 5 July 2024.

📣 We’re pleased to share that AOC Asia Symposium 2026 will take place in Adelaide, South Australia from 4–6 August 2026, co-located with the ADSTAR 2026 Summit.

As the Association of Old Crows’ flagship regional event in Asia, AOC Asia brings together leaders from Defence, government, industry and academia to explore advancements across the electromagnetic warfare (EW) and spectrum operations domain.

Co-location with ADSTAR provides a unique opportunity to connect the EW community with the broader Defence science and technology ecosystem—supporting collaboration, innovation and real-world capability outcomes.

The AOC Australia–New Zealand Chapter is inviting expressions of interest from professionals interested in presenting as part of our Lunch & Learn series.

We are seeking speakers to share insights across Information Warfare and the electromagnetic spectrum, contributing to the professional development of a cross-sector audience spanning Defence, industry, government, and academia.

Sessions are delivered online (45–60 minutes, including Q&A) and scheduled throughout the year.

The 2026 Global Information Summit in Adelaide, 21–24 July 2026 will bring together information professionals from across the ecosystem to build the ecosystem, fuse capabilities, and advance the profession. The Summit is proudly presented by the Information Power Institute Australia and AOC Australia-New Zealand.

Submissions are now open for the inaugural Research & Innovation Stream on Wednesday 22 July 2026.

Showcase your strategic and applied research, innovation, or education, capability or practice activities that are grounded in research evidence with a long presentation, short presentation, panel discussion or poster.

Contributions are invited from industry, academic and government innovators, researchers and educators from a wide variety of fields whose work advances understanding or application of information superiority and supports future capability, policy and practice.

We particularly encourage submissions that demonstrate collaboration between academia, government, and industry, or reflect cross-sector and interdisciplinary approaches in research, innovation, emerging technologies, and education initiatives.

Submissions will be peer reviewed and abstracts, presentations and posters may be published through the IPIA website. Presenters may be invited separately to submit a full paper for consideration in a peer-reviewed Summit Proceedings publication.

Key Dates:
· Submission deadline: Sunday 19 April 2026
· Notification of outcomes: Monday 18 May 2026
