Every year, on June 5, the world marks World Environment Day, the United Nations’ most important day dedicated to raising awareness and encouraging action for environmental protection. The 2026 edition focuses on climate change, under the global campaign theme .

Climate change and pollution are not just topics discussed at international summits. They can also be found in non-compliant products placed on the market: heavy metals in electronic devices, phthalates in textiles, and bioaccumulative substances that contaminate water and soil. Making an informed choice and purchasing compliant products is, in itself, a form of climate action.

Based on the weekly reports available through the InfoCons Alert System for dangerous non-food products, more than 260 alerts concerning non-compliant products that pose a risk to the environment were identified over the past year.
