📢 STEWARDSHIP MATTERS: Churches Are Data Controllers Too

The Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (POTRAZ) has announced Regulatory Notice 2 of 2026, confirming that mandatory compliance inspections under the Cyber and Data Protection Act [Chapter 12:07] begin 1 September 2026.

Religious organisations are named among the first sectors to be inspected alongside financial institutions, healthcare providers, schools, and NGOs.

As the Church, we hold sacred trust over the personal information of our congregants; names, contact details, family records, prayer requests, giving records, and more. Scripture calls us to faithfulness in what is entrusted to us (Luke 16:10). Data stewardship is an extension of that calling.

🌍 A CALL TO CHRISTIAN STEWARDSHIP OF CREATION

“The earth is the Lord’s, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.” — Psalm 24:1 (KJV)

Before it was ours to live in, the earth was God’s to create. Every forest, every river, every wetland belongs to Him — and He has entrusted it into our hands to guard, not to exploit.

Zimbabwe Christian Alliance is calling every congregation, every believer, to embrace the Four C’s of Creation Care:

🌱 Conservation — Protecting forests, wetlands & wildlife as sacred trust
💚 Care — Tending the land the way we tend one another
🙏 Commitment — Faithful action, not a one-day cause
🤝 Community — Every congregation planting hope, together

Genesis 2:15 reminds us that from the very beginning, God placed humanity in the garden “to dress it and to keep it.” This is not a modern environmental trend — it is an ancient mandate given to the Church.

As Zimbabwe’s wetlands shrink and forests thin, may the Body of Christ rise to lead by example — not just in words, but in action.

Daily Devotion

🌿 STEWARDS, NOT OWNERS

“Moreover it is required in stewards that one be found faithful.” — 1 Corinthians 4:2

Everything we hold our time, our resources, our environment, even the personal information entrusted to us by others belongs first to God. We are simply stewards, called to manage it well.

Stewardship isn’t a once-off act. It shows up in:
🌱 How we care for creation and the land God gave us
💰 How we handle finances, big or small
🤝 How we protect the trust others place in us
⏰ How we use the time we’ve been given

As the Church, faithfulness in these “small” things is what qualifies us for greater responsibility. Luke 16:10 reminds us: “He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much.”

This week, let’s ask ourselves: In what area of my life is God calling me to greater faithfulness?

Peace That Guards the Heart

DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE
If this past week has left you anxious, whether about a family member still travelling, a ministry commitment, or simply the state of things, this verse is your invitation. Not to pretend the worry away, but to hand it over in prayer, with thanksgiving even for the small mercies already received.

PRAYER
Father, we bring You everything we have carried this past week. This week replace our anxiety with Your peace, the kind that does not depend on our circumstances changing first. Amen.

Strength for the Weary

DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE
Good morning, family. So many of us are carrying heavy loads right now, some of our own, and some belonging to the returnees we have been walking alongside these past weeks. Isaiah reminds us this morning that our strength does not run out when we hope in the Lord. It is renewed, day by day, step by step. Whatever you are facing today, you do not walk it alone.

PRAYER
Lord, renew the strength of the weary this morning, in our homes, at Njube, and everywhere your people are tired. Help us to hope in You before we lean on our own strength. Amen.

As believers, we cannot separate our faith from our responsibility to the land. “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it” (Psalm 24:1). From the very beginning, God entrusted humanity to till and keep His creation (Genesis 2:15) not to exploit it, but to steward it for generations to come.

Wetlands are the kidneys of our land they purify water, sustain wildlife, and protect communities from drought and flooding. When we neglect them, we neglect a gift given to us in trust.

Zimbabwe Christian Alliance stands with efforts to restore and protect our wetlands. Let this be a call to the Church: pray for our land, teach environmental stewardship in our congregations, and act because faithfulness to God includes faithfulness to His creation.

It is not too late to turn the tide.

Better,Stronger Together!

DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE
No single church, ministry, or government office could carry this response alone, and none of them are trying to. Government, church, Red Cross, City Council, ordinary congregants: each one holding a piece of the same task. That is the body of Christ working the way it was designed to. Today, look for the person beside you carrying a similar load, and offer your hand.

PRAYER
Lord, thank You for partnership. Where we are tired, send someone to lift us up, and where someone near us is struggling, make us willing to be that help. Amen.

He Will Provide

DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE
Blankets, bread, bus fare, medicine: this week has taught us how many needs one family can carry at once. And still, gift by gift, hand by hand, we have watched them met. Not perfectly, not all at once, but met. That is what provision looks like in real life. It rarely arrives as a single miracle; more often it arrives through the obedience of ordinary people saying yes.

PRAYER
Lord, thank You for every hand that has given this week. Continue to provide for what is still lacking, and make us willing to be part of the answer to someone else's prayer today. Amen.

God Sees the Brokenhearted

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” — Psalm 34:18

DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE
There is no distance God will not close to reach a broken heart. This week we have sat with returnees who arrived with nothing but the clothes on their backs, and with families here at home carrying their own private griefs. This verse is a promise, not just a comfort: the Lord draws near. He is not far off watching from a distance. He is close.

PRAYER
Father, draw near to every crushed spirit this morning. Comfort the returnee still finding their footing, the family waiting for news, and anyone reading this who feels far from hope. Amen.

WELCOMING THE STRANGER

“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in.” — Matthew 25:35

DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE
Every returnee who has stepped off a bus at Njube these past weeks has been, in a very real sense, a stranger arriving in need. And every plate of food, every blanket, every song sung in welcome, has been an answer to this scripture. Jesus told us plainly where He is found in moments like these: in the face of the one we choose to welcome.

PRAYER
Lord, thank You for every welcome extended this week. Keep our hearts soft toward the stranger, the tired, and the returning, remembering that in loving them, we are loving You. Amen.
