The CENTRE FOR PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT is a citizen-centric, independent think tank that mainstreams effective citizen engagement throughout the public policy cycle. The Centre bridges the gap between policymakers and citizens through capacity building, training, policy research and analysis to improve governance and public accountability by enhancing meaningful citizen participation in decision-making
and policy processes. Our conceptualization of public engagement is informed by the principle that legitimacy of governments derives from the people and hence the motto of placing Citizens at the Centre of Public Policy. Public engagement processes strengthen communities’ sense of responsibility and ownership of the development agenda as people themselves become co-creators of public policy. Vision
To be the leading public engagement think-tank in mainstreaming citizen participation in decision-making, budgetary processes and in public policy processes. Our Work
The CENTRE FOR PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT places citizens at the centre of public policy through capacity building for public engagement, policy research and evidence based advocacy.
