About the Role
Pro Africa is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Field Officer with a strong agronomic background to support our irrigation schemes and lead monitoring & evaluation (M&E) activities. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in improving agricultural productivity, ensuring sustainable water use, and tracking project impact across targeted communities.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide technical assistance to farmers on crop selection, soil health, pest management, and fertilizer use.
• Design and implement agronomic plans tailored to irrigation schemes.
• Conduct field assessments to optimize irrigation scheduling and water efficiency.
• Train farmers and extension workers on best agronomic practices under irrigated conditions.
• Develop and implement M&E frameworks to track project performance and outcomes.
• Collect, analyze, and report field data on crop yields, water usage, and farmer adoption rates.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly progress reports with actionable insights.
• Support impact assessments and contribute to donor reporting requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Social science, degree in Agriculture, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of field experience in rural programing, food security, irrigation schemes and agricultural extension, a Post graduate qualification in M&E will be added advantage
• Strong knowledge of M&E tools and data collection methodologies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and data analysis software (e.g., Excel, KoboToolbox, GIS tools).
• A holder of a clean class 4 driver’s licence
• Ability to ride a bike is a must

Livelihoods and Training Officer

Pro Africa Development a local NGO based in Bulawayo, is looking for a Livelihoods and Training Officer to fill a position in our Organization. The person will have the following responsibilities.
Responsibilities
• Coordinate with the team and assist in the development of proposals, concept notes and other related project documents
• Oversee the training of beneficiaries across various activities including, irrigations schemes, WASH, ISALS and cross cutting issues including Child rights, Gender and HIV/AIDS
• Assist team in the establishment and maintenance of an effective program reporting, monitoring and evaluation system to track, analyse and report on results for both internal and external use.
• Facilitate training of beneficiaries on financial literacy, book keeping and smart saving practices
• Facilitate training of WASH beneficiaries on sustainable water management using the Water Users Association Concept
• Ensure Information sharing is done to relevant stakeholders and attend all district stakeholder meetings as required.
• Maintain project database for various activities ensuring key aspects of all projects are well captured.

Qualifications and experience
The candidate should hold a Degree in Agriculture or Social Science, a Post graduate qualification will be an added advantage.
2 years’ experience in the related field
A holder of a clean class 4 driver’s license
