Walking side by side and sharing stories (some not-so-positive)!

Statistics show that 1 out of every 27 women are diagnosed with breast cancer and today the Stellenbosch Academy of Sport team and the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation South Africa team came together to show our support for Breast Cancer Awareness and show love for those affected by breast cancer.

Remember, even small actions make a difference and we are always stronger when we stand together.

Thank you to everyone who walked alongside us and made the day so special. Every step counts!

This Heritage Month, we celebrate you on a day that honours the diverse cultures, histories, traditions and stories that make our country unique.

Our Laureus Sport for Good Foundation South Africa philosophy is to use the power of sport to bring people together, strengthen communities and create lasting social change.

And our work continues.

Let us keep opening doors for our young people, giving them the chance to dream, discover their potential, find meaningful work, and build a healthier, safer future.

All it takes is that one opportunity!

Looking back on a successful, memorable visit to the Corinthians Africa project with Global Chairperson Sean Fitzpatrick, Dane Coles ambassador Dan Nicholl and partners from FirstRand Foundation and eXp Realty South Africa was a powerful reminder of what sport does in our communities.

Something changes when young people are given the chance to dream, with support to grow and someone in their corner saying, “I believe in you”.

A night to remember with a touch of gold!

The Laureus/Cape Grace Gala Dinner took place on Wednesday, 26 August, at the most gorgeous Norval Foundation. Thank you, Cape Grace Hotel, for walking with us on this journey.

The theme for the evening, ‘A Touch of Gold’, was created specifically to celebrate the brilliance of elite sport while shining a light on the golden moments created every day through Sport for Development: a young person finding their voice, a girl discovering her confidence, a community creating opportunity, or an athlete becoming a role model.

From inspiring stories shared in the Q&A by our hosts on the night, Global Chairperson Sean Fitzpatrick and local Chairperson Bryan Habana, to our Deputy Chairperson, Deshun Deysel, auctioneer and co-MC, Laureus ambassador Dan Nicholl and Jo-Ann Strauss for your amazing co-hosting on the night. To our Laureus Trustees,
Fred Robertson and Raymond Langa and our Laureus ambassadors Ryk Neethling, Graeme Smith, Elana Van Zyl Meyer and Mohono, to the auction, Entertainment by Kirsty Bows and the special donation part. Who could forget the kindness displayed on the night!

To each guest, we are incredibly grateful that you chose to spend the night with us and be part of such a memorable occasion.

See you again in 2027!
