CERT CENTURION | IRENE
On Thursday afternoon at approximately 17:00, the CERT Centurion crew responded to a medical emergency at an office park in Irene.
Upon arrival, crews found that a female patient had experienced a seizure while attending a corporate function.
The patient was assessed and treated on scene by our medical crew. Following a thorough assessment, the patient elected to make use of private transport to proceed to a medical facility for further evaluation and treatment.
We would like to thank ER24 and EBS Security for their assistance and cooperation on scene.
Safety Tip:
Witnessing a seizure can be a frightening experience, but knowing what to do can make a significant difference. If someone is having a seizure, remain calm, move any potentially dangerous objects away from them, and protect their head from injury if possible. Do not attempt to restrain the person or place anything in their mouth. Once the seizure has stopped, gently turn them onto their side and remain with them until they have fully recovered or medical assistance arrives. If the seizure lasts longer than five minutes, if multiple seizures occur, or if the person is injured during the episode, seek emergency medical assistance immediately.
