Meet Sammy, the endearing and inquisitive African Stonechat, Saxicola torquatus, a resident in Parys Wetland Park NPC. Sammy appears to have made a connection between our activities and the insects that are uncovered, allowing him to capitalize on this bounty while keeping a safe distance in the nearby scrub. The African Stonechat's distribution encompasses Sub-Saharan Africa, with populations reaching into Arabia. Thirteen subspecies are recognized across its range, featuring diverse colour morphs.🌱
