The South African National Editors’ Forum (SANEF) invites editors, journalists and media stakeholders to an engagement with former Statistician-General of South Africa, Dr Pali Lehohla, on the implications of South Africa’s soaring unemployment and poverty levels for the upcoming Local Government Elections.

The discussion will explore the socio-economic realities facing communities across the country and how these challenges may influence voter participation, public expectations and the electoral landscape ahead of the November 2026 local government elections.
