South Coast Food Drive is a community effort to assist people who are in financial stress with food, as a project of ICA (Independence Commission Africa) registered NPO.

*Update* Norman and his lovely wife from Southport, dropped off the mini solar system for Shane by me in Sunwich Port yesterday as Shane was unable to collect this when he came through, as Norman's mother had a terrible fall that morning, and the family rushed through to hospital.
This is the final item we had pledged to assist Shane and his wife, from Southbroom., who were living in a tent in a rural area with no electricity.
The interesting thing about this little solar system, is thst the crate in which it stands, has 4 x lovely castor wheels, so clever!

Thank you to everyone who assisted with this project. We managed to assist thid gsmily witj s shower tent, 20l sun heating shower bag, a 2 plate gss stove with a regulator and 9kg gas bottle, some bedding, pots and kitchen stuff, a small 3 light solar system, a 850w inverter, and the mini solar system on wheels.
We wish theThomas family a comfortable living environment ...

Every year, since 2021, the community pitch in to provide a Christmas party for children from financially stressed homes in the Bendigo community (from Hibberdene up to Tweni) and this year is no different.
We invite parents of children from babies up to 16 years old to contact us, to see if there is something in particular their kids need for school, so that we can try to acquire it for them as a gift.

Please note, this is a community project and we welcome anyone who is interested in taking part in this initiative, to join us.

This year, their party will be hosted on Sunday morning from 10am-2pm at a private venue in Sunwich Port.
