🎉📚 Leadership, learning & lots of laughter! 🦁✨

On Saturday, the Incoming Presidents, Secretaries, Treasurers and Membership Chairs for the 2026/2027 Lions year from Zones 8 & 9 — stretching all the way from Ramsgate 🏖️ to Ballito 🌊 and up to Cowies Hill ⛰️ — gathered at the North Durban Lions Clubhouse for our annual Incoming Officers Training! 🙌

The day was filled with learning 📖, sharing ideas 💡, building friendships 🤝 and encouraging one another as everyone prepares to officially step into their new roles on 1 July 🗓️

Of course, no Lions gathering is complete without good food! 🍗🔥 A huge thank you to Galitos Durban North for kindly sponsoring a delicious meal that kept everyone fuelled for the day 😋👏

On the 14th and 16th of April, members of the North Durban Lions Club headed down to Greenwood Park Primary School to conduct pre-vision screening for over 900 pupils 👀🦁📚

Lots of fun was had by all while making a meaningful difference in the lives of young learners!

Pre-vision screening is a simple and non-invasive process used to identify possible vision difficulties in children at an early stage. The screening helps detect issues such as difficulty seeing clearly, eye coordination problems, and other visual concerns that may impact learning and development. Children identified during the screening can then be referred for a full eye examination if needed.

Vision is one of the key pillars of Lions Clubs International, with Lions around the world committed to helping prevent avoidable blindness and improving eye health in communities. By supporting vision initiatives like these, we help children see a brighter future 🌟👓

A huge thank you to Greenwood Park Primary School for welcoming us and to all the Lions members who volunteered their time and energy!

This April, over the Easter weekend, members of the North Durban Lions Club donned our bunny ears and headed out to spread a little Easter cheer to the amazing essential workers serving our community. 🐰💛
We visited our local hospital, fire station, and police station, handing out marshmallow Easter eggs as a small token of appreciation for the incredible work these heroes do every day — especially while spending the Easter weekend away from their families.
The smiles, surprise, and gratitude we received reminded us just how meaningful simple acts of kindness can be. Thank you to all our essential workers for your dedication, sacrifice, and service to our community. 👏🚑🚒👮
