One minute they are just small babies lying there… the next minute they are moving like a small speed machine.

The crawling stage is where everything changes. Suddenly baby is everywhere before you even think. You turn your head for one second and they are already in trouble or trying to eat something they are not supposed to.

No more peace, only fast little legs and big adventures.

I am so grateful that because of The Baby Home, this incredible lady came into my life.

If it wasn’t for Baby Home, our paths would never have crossed. She arrived in the middle of an emergency as a complete stranger… and somehow became so much more.

In the middle of crisis, vulnerability, and trauma, a bond formed that turned a stranger into a friend, and a friend into family.

What I will always carry with me is her heart — so big, so kind, so giving — even while she was walking through one of the most painful seasons of her life. Her quiet strength and gentle nature carried her through, and instead of breaking her, it made her even stronger.

Now, I had to say goodbye.
She has left South Africa to build a better future for her children, and while I understand it, my heart is broken.

It makes me sad that circumstances are pushing good people away.

A stranger became a friend. A friend became family. And that will never change xx

Can we talk about the Baby Vac for a minute?

No, this is not sponsored. Although it probably looks like it because I am forever recommending it and always seem to have a few in circulation.

With 6 babies in the house, flu season can hit hard. One little runny nose quickly turns into six, and before you know it everyone is looking like little glazed donuts.

A little saline spray and then the Baby Vac works its magic. It helps keep little noses clear, makes feeding and sleeping easier, and stops that congestion from building up.

If you are a parent, grandparent, foster parent, or anyone with little ones in your life, trust me on this one... go get yourself a Baby Vac. It might just be the best baby purchase you ever make.

Who else swears by theirs?

One of the most beautiful things about The Baby Home is the relationships that are formed here.

These children become so much more than housemates. They become best friends, brothers, sisters, and family.

While we celebrate every child finding their forever family, we know they will always carry the love, friendships, and memories they made here with them wherever life takes them.

To all the dads, step-dads, foster dads, adoptive dads, grandfathers, uncles, and all father-figures who love and care for children in so many different ways.

To those who are holding memories of dads they have lost.
To those who are missing their fathers today.
To those who are longing to be dads and waiting with hope in their hearts.
And to those who step in, stand up, and show up as a father when it is needed most.

Thank you for your love, your presence, your strength, and your care.
Happy Father’s Day.

People often ask me, "How do you do this job?" They say it must be too emotional, too frustrating, too much paperwork, too much red tape.
And yes, some days are hard. There are tears, challenges, and moments that can break your heart.

But the truth is, I wouldn't change it for anything.
Every day I get to be part of a child's journey. I get to help give hope where there was uncertainty, love where there was loss, and family where it is needed most. I get to witness incredible resilience, beautiful new beginnings, and the joy of children finding where they belong.

There is something very special about knowing that, in some small way, you have helped change the course of a child's life.

They say if you do what you love, you'll never work a day in your life. I don't know if that's completely true—I definitely work! But I can say this: when you spend your life doing something that matters to you, you have very few regrets.

And for that, I am incredibly grateful xx

Today was such a special day for our staff.

A very big thank you to the amazing team from Beauty Therapy Institute Durban for coming in and spoiling our ladies with manicures, massages, and some much-needed pampering.

The ladies who work at The Baby Home are the real heroes behind the scenes. Every day they love, care for, comfort, and nurture the children in our home. They celebrate the happy moments, help through the difficult ones, and give so much of themselves to make sure every child feels safe and loved.

Their work is not always seen, but it makes a huge difference in the lives of our children.

That is why it was so lovely to see them being spoiled for a change. Seeing them smile, relax, and enjoy being cared for was really special.

To the team from thank you for your kindness and generosity. Thank you for making our ladies feel appreciated, valued, and special today.

They spend every day looking after others, and today it was their turn to be looked after.

We are so grateful xx
