Today we celebrate the women who came before us, the women who stand beside us, and the girls who will shape our future 💛🇿🇦

On National Women's Day, we remember the more than 20,000 women who marched to the Union Buildings in 1956. Women whose courage, unity and determination continue to inspire generations.

At Move For Two, we are privileged to work with young girls who are finding their voices, discovering their confidence and learning that their dreams matter.

May they always know that they have a place in this world and that their voices deserve to be heard.

✨ Meet Our New Lead Teacher and Head of Move For Two in Cape Town: Bianca Brown ✨

We are so excited to welcome Bianca to the Move For Two family! 🙏🏼🫶🏼✨

Bianca is a qualified RAD and ISTD teacher and a recent graduate from The Waterfront Theatre School.

Here's a little from Bianca herself:

"Dance has been my passion for as long as I can remember. It's more than movement, it's my purpose, my expression, and my way of connecting with the world.

Over the years I've trained, performed, I've grown, and now I get to do what I love most: teaching and empowering the next generation."

Bianca brings not only her talent and experience, but also a genuine heart for inspiring young people to grow in confidence, creativity, and joy through dance.

We have seen a number of teachers come and go through our MFT doors over the past year but we have a feeling that Bianca will be around for a while ☺️ We're certain that she is going to bring a new energy and the growth within MFT that we have been praying and waiting for! 🎉

Bianca will start by teaching on a Tuesday and a Thursday afternoon. She will also be running our social media and take on the role as our official heart and MFT ambassador in Cape Town! 🔥

So please join us in giving Bianca a warm Move For Two welcome! We're excited to share more of her story as her journey with us unfolds. But for now, we can't wait for you to see the passion, energy, and care that she brings to our dancers!💃

Move For Two is looking for a passionate and experienced Dance & Life Skills Teacher to step into the role of Head of MFT Cape Town.

This is a unique, part time opportunity combining dance education, mentorship, leadership, and community impact.

We are looking for someone who not only has strong professional dance experience but who also carries a genuine heart for young people, creativity and meaningful community work.

Role highlights:
• Part-time (3 days per week)
• Paid position
• Hybrid working structure
• Teaching, choreography and leadership responsibilities
• Start date flexible

As schools open up this week, I wanted to start the year with a post of thanks 🫶🏼

In December, we held our end-of-year showcase, and it would not have been possible without the incredible volunteers, helpers and supporters who gave their time, energy, and hearts so generously. From behind-the-scenes support to being there on the day, you are what made it all possible, and for that I am truly grateful.

A special mention needs to be made to a few individuals:

To Dana from thank you for so willingly and generously feeding all of our performers on the day. Your generosity truly inspires me.

To Jess and Bianca from thank you for your generosity and also for being there in person to witness and be a part of our little family!

To my friend, Simon thank you for sharing your incredible talent with us and capturing the day so perfectly and beautifully. I am beyond grateful for your presence there on the day and the beautiful pictures that we now have to use for years to come.

To my Bee and Lolly, my precious friends, as Nosi said herself, there would have been no show without the two of you. Thank you for stepping in the way that you did to run the show the way that only true professionals would. Thank you for the endless voice notes shared in preparation for the day, for your writing, music playing, decision making and donation of your eyeliner on the day 😆 Thank you for loving ME enough to step in in my absence and represent MFT as perfectly as you did.

Move For Two exists because of community — people who believe in us and our dancers, our mission, and the power of movement and connection. We are deeply grateful for every hand that helped, every smile exchanged, and every person who was there on the day! I know that for those there it was a very special afternoon and most importantly a day that our dancers and their families will never forget.

Thank you for helping us end last year on such a meaningful note and for reminding us what we can achieve together ✨🫶🏽 And now we look forward to a new year, a year rooted in gratitude and moving forward to even greater things!
