As schools open up this week, I wanted to start the year with a post of thanks 🫶🏼

In December, we held our end-of-year showcase, and it would not have been possible without the incredible volunteers, helpers and supporters who gave their time, energy, and hearts so generously. From behind-the-scenes support to being there on the day, you are what made it all possible, and for that I am truly grateful.

A special mention needs to be made to a few individuals:

To Dana from thank you for so willingly and generously feeding all of our performers on the day. Your generosity truly inspires me.

To Jess and Bianca from thank you for your generosity and also for being there in person to witness and be a part of our little family!

To my friend, Simon thank you for sharing your incredible talent with us and capturing the day so perfectly and beautifully. I am beyond grateful for your presence there on the day and the beautiful pictures that we now have to use for years to come.

To my Bee and Lolly, my precious friends, as Nosi said herself, there would have been no show without the two of you. Thank you for stepping in the way that you did to run the show the way that only true professionals would. Thank you for the endless voice notes shared in preparation for the day, for your writing, music playing, decision making and donation of your eyeliner on the day 😆 Thank you for loving ME enough to step in in my absence and represent MFT as perfectly as you did.

Move For Two exists because of community — people who believe in us and our dancers, our mission, and the power of movement and connection. We are deeply grateful for every hand that helped, every smile exchanged, and every person who was there on the day! I know that for those there it was a very special afternoon and most importantly a day that our dancers and their families will never forget.

Thank you for helping us end last year on such a meaningful note and for reminding us what we can achieve together ✨🫶🏽 And now we look forward to a new year, a year rooted in gratitude and moving forward to even greater things!

Welcome to the team 🙌🏽🫶🏽✨ We are absolutely thrilled to have you on board as a Guest Teacher and Choreographer!

Mr Tee has joined us for the last 3 months of the year and in only a few short lessons he has already made a lasting impact with our little dancers.

Not only is Thimna a trained professional artist, dancer, teacher and choreographer but he is also the founder and artistic director of . This means that he understands the ins and outs and all of the nuances that come with running a Dance NPO and for this I am very grateful.

Thimna has received extensive performing arts training and carries a lot of experience as a performer. He has recently traveled and performed all over Europe, USA and Canada.

You can tell when watching these short clips that Mr Tee has a huge passion and dedication to working with young dancers and helping them become the best dancers they can be ✨ Thank you, Thimna, for sharing your passion for the arts and dance with us. We are truly excited to have you be a part of this team! 🫶🏽🙌🏽💛

Meet Nosi! Our beautiful, fun and vibrant new face to the Move For Two team! 💜 Nosi is pioneering our Life Skills program. She is a life skills specialist and although we have always included life skills within our dance classes, we have taken a chance to see how our dancers respond to a life skills only lesson and so far so good...😊

With a background in dance and the performing arts herself, Nosi has a way of capturing our dancers' attention, knowing just how to reach these young dancers and speak to them about topics that they need to know more about.

In Nosi's words herself: "I love teaching kids as they are an amazing hope for the future. They bring so much joy, fun and freedom. Teaching and influencing them makes me feel that I have a purpose in life and that someday this world will become a better place for them and for all of us".

It's only been a month since Nosi joined our team but she feels like she's been with us forever, we really are SO greatful to have you along with your guidance and wisdom Nosi Nos, welcome to the team! 💛🩷🩵

It's a full circle moment for me (Stash)! 💛🩷🩵

When one of my past pupils reached out to me a few months ago about dedicating some regular hours to MFT each month, I was completely blown away and so unbelievably grateful! Her creativity in wanting to offer us hours (in accounting) - her area of expertise - Lord knows that is not my forte!!! 😝

My name is Miché du Plessis, and I’m incredibly excited to be here—a daughter, sister, mentor, friend, and above all, an aspiring difference-maker.

Not too long ago (okay, maybe 2016), I was just a dancer in Nastasha’s class. When Nastasha left, I remember keeping a keen eye on what she would do next. Before I knew it Stash and Jess launched Move For Two and I was instantly drawn in. Watching their journey unfold from afar left me deeply inspired, and I knew I wanted to be part of this story in some way.

While life took me down a different path, I pursued my studies in Accounting at Stellenbosch University. Let’s just say it was a scenic route, but I graduated—and I’m now in the final year of my Chartered Accountant articles.

Recently, I’ve felt a strong calling to give back and serve. That nudge led me to slide into Nastasha’s DMs with an offer to assist Move For Two on the financial side of things. Was I nervous? Absolutely. Especially since such help was never formally asked for. But hey, you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take, right?

So here I am—showing up fully and ready to contribute to a community I’ve admired for so long. Being trained as a ballet dancer shaped who I am today. The discipline, teamwork, punctuality, and pursuit of excellence drilled into me have stayed with me—even as I traded leotards for blazers. I now walk into the office in heels, still moving to my own rhythm. Much like prepping for a performance, I go over the numbers (probably 10 times) before hitting submit. And yes, I still can’t function without my music.

Thank you for welcoming me into your space. I can’t wait to grow with you, serve you, and learn from you.

During the holidays, Teacher gave a beautiful Dance Workshop focused on Girl Power at 👱🏾‍♀️✨

We are so grateful to Teacher Bron for taking the time to invest in these precious girls during her holiday AND we were honoured to be asked by The Glo House to collaborate and spread the joy of dancing in this way. Thank you for having us and keep dancing beautiful Girls!

We are thrilled to welcome Bronwyn as one of our new dance teachers! She will also be teaching Life Skills and playing a valuable role in fundraising 🫶🏽

She has a deep love not only for the arts but also for our country, our culture and our youth. She is grateful everyday for the privilege of being able to share the art that she loves for the purpose of building meaningful relationships and to teach skills that empower our next generation.

Bronwyn has her Trinity College of London Performing Arts certification and many years of experience working in a very similar environment to Move For Two. She will be teaching at Bonga Primary School and she will also be spending time focusing on our fundraising and PR here in South Africa.

Lolly is a professional dancer himself and has performed in a number of renowned projects both globally and nationally. He is well known in the Cape Town art scene as a teacher, choreographer, music editor and graphic designer with a happy and positive outlook on life and a heart for our youth.

Lolly did his Dance Training at Indoni Dance, Arts and leadership Academy. He loves teaching our youth and he engages with a number of different dance projects including directing youth company performances. He has run the Dance For All outreach program for a number of years and comes highly recommended by a number of well known teachers in the industry.
