Meals on Wheels has been around for over 50 years! You may even have been involved as a volunteer. The very first Meals on Wheels in South Africa was a branch established in East London, in 1964. The purpose at that time was to provide meals to the elderly in the community. Now, today, Meals on Wheels KNFSA feed over 500 000 meals a month throughout Kwa-Zulu Natal and the Freestate Area. Meals on

Wheels' core business is to serve the basic needs of the poorest of the poor, vulnerable, disabled and the elderly in society. Our service delivery target groups include previously disadvantaged groups, the poorest of the poor who have little to no income such as old age pension, disability pension, child care and grants etc. Meals on Wheels serves prepared meals door to door, or are collected from service points such as soup kitchens, service centers for the senior citizens, rural pre-schools, creches as well as orphanages. Meals on Wheels is a non-profit organisation run by Board Members and Directors to ensure a safe and well run Community Service Organisation.
