Meet one of our 2025 Durban Toy Run beneficiaries: Scars Are Blessings

Scars Are Blessings Foundation is based in Umlazi and feeds over 100 vulnerable children and adults weekly through donations of staple food items. Their outdoor kitchen, which plays a vital role in their community feeding programme, was badly damaged by rain and is in urgent need of repair.

Despite the challenges, the team continues to empower others by teaching practical skills, such as brush cutting and roof cleaning, that promote self-reliance and reduce dependency on the feeding scheme.
