We lived in a small apartment once with no money, no food and no car.

I did not have qualifications. I did not have the skills, or the upbringing, or a university that could open doors and networks for me. By all statistical probability I was destined to be nowhere.

But I had a still small voice.

I began to develop the feelings of God, the notes I have been teaching. The slap when I was about to cross a line. The warmth when He was in something. The sweetness when He wanted me to do it. And I made my decisions on those feelings, not on my mind.

Many times the feeling contradicted the circumstances. It made no sense to people who lived in their heads. But it was the Holy Spirit, and it was my guidance system.

I am not telling you this to talk about myself. I am telling you because if He could lead someone like me, He can lead you. You do not need a better background. You need to learn His voice.

It is often those who have accomplished the least who have the most to say about those whom God has blessed.

They criticize, mock, and belittle the success of others, often because deep down, they desire the very things God has entrusted to the people they speak against.

Jealousy will make you criticize what you secretly wish you could carry.

But surely we were created for something greater than this?

Let us rise above petty criticism, jealousy, and the constant obsession with other people’s lives.

Let us become people of vision! People who discuss ideas that shape the future, advance the Kingdom of God, transform communities, raise up generations, and demonstrate the love of Christ.

Your assignment is far too significant to spend your life discussing someone else’s!

Celebrate what God is doing through others while faithfully building what He has entrusted to you.

Greatness is not found in tearing others down, but in building something that will outlive you!
