We run a Scout Group for children and young adults aged between 5-29 years old
Children 5-6 join our Meerkat Den
Children aged 7-10 join our Cub Pack
Children aged 11-18 join our Scout Troop
Young adults aged 18-29 join our Rover Crew

Upton Shield 2026. A rescheduled Upton Shield 2026, took place on Sunday 19 July at Alphen Constantia Greenbelt. Upton shield is a junior competition requiring teams of 4 to hike to various bases and display Traveller, general knowledge and teamwork skills. 6th Rondebosch was represented by 3 teams and all three teams finishing in the Top 10 (places 2, 3 and 7). This is a noteworthy performance from scouts ranging in age from 11-14. I am beyond proud of our scouts who worked very hard in preparing for this event. Of particular mention is the 3 PL's (also only age 14) who showed leadership and planning skills far beyond their age.

Did someone say "Winter" camp? Our Winter camp this year did not disappoint. From the breathtaking views, to a jam packed program of fun and challenging activities, to the uncanny warm weather it was the highlight of Term 2. Looking into the mysteries of the night sky. 6th RB Senior scouts kicked off the Astronomy Interest badge with a visit to South African Astronomical Observatory where they were taken on a fascinating tour of the visitors centre, museum, library and of course several telescopes. Hiking is what Scouts do, so hiking we went. On Sunday two separate groups from 6th RB Scouts hit the mountains of the Western Cape. Our older scouts tested their nerves with an adrenaline pumping route along the front of Table Mountain. Our younger scouts, adamant not to be left out, tackled an adventure of their own, exploring the in and outs of the massive granite outcrop of Paarl Rock. Special thank you to Sofie and Kevin for leading these respective adventures.

Proud Leaders to Be. This weekend 15 of the 6th Rondebosch Traveller scouts attended Leadership Development Training at Gilpine Scout Hall. The course aims to introduce scouts to the leadership principles that they experience in scouting as well as learning key life skills like team work and communication. But more important than any learning was the fun had by all and the friendships made. Special mention to Chris and Michael who came for day as Patrol PQ's and showed our scouts what true leadership is.

Kontiki 2026. Wow it has been an epic weekend and one for the books of 6th Rondebosch. Regardless of the tough conditions 6th Rondebosch scouts excelled. Well done to both the raft and fringe team we are very proud of you. Some results:
- 6th position overall for our raft team
- 5th position overall for our fringe team
- 2nd position for the spirit STA trophy.
- 4th position in raft construction
- ā 3rd position in the cross country
