Proud Leaders to Be. This weekend 15 of the 6th Rondebosch Traveller scouts attended Leadership Development Training at Gilpine Scout Hall. The course aims to introduce scouts to the leadership principles that they experience in scouting as well as learning key life skills like team work and communication. But more important than any learning was the fun had by all and the friendships made. Special mention to Chris and Michael who came for day as Patrol PQ's and showed our scouts what true leadership is.

Kontiki 2026. Wow it has been an epic weekend and one for the books of 6th Rondebosch. Regardless of the tough conditions 6th Rondebosch scouts excelled. Well done to both the raft and fringe team we are very proud of you. Some results:
- 6th position overall for our raft team
- 5th position overall for our fringe team
- 2nd position for the spirit STA trophy.
- 4th position in raft construction
- ⁠3rd position in the cross country

Rocking on rock. A small but enthusiastic grouo of scouts headed to Higgovale Quarry today for a climbing meet. The path to First Class. Danielle has been working hard over the last few months to complete her First Class advancement. She has arranged a recruitment evening, taken her patrol on a camp at Appleton’s camp ground, completed a community service project at Rosebank retirement home and just this weekend lead a 20km overnight hike with a group of 5 other scouts. All this hard work resulted in Danielle being awarded her First Class advancement on Friday nght Well done Danielle on your extraordinary efforts and for being an inspiration to our scouts.

Dylan Receives his Baden-Powell Award - 6th Rondebosch is super proud to announce that Dylan Ribbans received his Baden-Powell (BP) Award in 2025. This is the highest advancement award you can receive as a Rover. His BP journey has been very exciting and he has contributed significantly to both the 6th Rondebosch Rover Crew and scouting in the Western Cape. Key highlights of his BP journey included:
• Leading the crew in renovating the Strawbale hut at Hawequas, as his Squire project.
• Planning and leading a multiday hike in the Cederberg.
• Winning the Hawkeye Trophy – twice
• Attending the National Rover moot.
• Leading the fringe competition judging at Kontiki.
• Leading the crew in hosting a rover crew from France, with some great community service projects.
• Leading the crew in obtaining several Gold Star awards.
He is a true role model and representative of the scouting values. We thank him for his leadership and service and couldn't be more proud of him.

6th RB scouts completed a 4 day expedition across Cape Town starting in Simonstown and ending in City Bowl. Highlights included wide games, surfing and visit to the aquarium. Scouts learnt several new skills including planning their meals and doing their own shopping. But the greatest take out was to see our scouts all getting to know each other better building strong friendships and troop spirit. Huge thank you to Jamie, Sofie, Emma and Erica for all you help before and during the event
