gold-youth has an audacious goal to develop 10 million young African leaders with character and integrity. These leaders will move their generation to reach their full potential so that we see results in social behaviour change, education and job creation.​

Over the last 20 years the gold Programme has been implemented in schools and communities suffering from poverty and unemployment. ​

The g

old Model is based on of the methodology of peer education, which uses the power of positive peer pressure. Youth encourage each other to become positive role models and agents of change. We provide out-of-school youth Facilitators with a four-year job internship. They train and mentor teenage leaders who in turn train and impact their Peers and others in the community. When they complete the 4-year programme, these young people are part of our alumni programme called gold Grads. They’re supported into further education, employment and entrepreneurship. ​

The gold Model is currently active in six African countries. We are committed to empowering youth to find the gold within them.

Peer Educators at Sedumedi JSS, Botswana, recently led a powerful Community Upliftment Activity under the theme “Unmasking the Appeal – Countering Ni****ne and To***co Addiction.”

The session brought together students, teachers, health professionals and community partners to explore the dangers of to***co, ni****ne, va**ng and substance use, while equipping young people with tools to resist peer pressure and make healthier choices.

Through youth-led presentations, open dialogue and real-life experiences, young people were empowered to become positive voices for change in their schools and communities. 💪🏽
