This World Food Day, we're reminded that food should nourish people, not go to waste.💚

While many families across South Africa face food insecurity, perfectly good food goes to waste every day.

This is where incredible organisations like FoodForward SA, Lunchbox Fund and FeedAChild make a real difference, from rescuing surplus food and getting it to communities in need to providing nutritious meals for vulnerable children.

Thank you for the meaningful work you do.

Happy World Food Day! 💚

Our team at Helpmore donated 17 pairs of running shoes to the Komani Running Club through our Runmore with Ranmore initiative, giving pre-loved running shoes a new purpose.💚

And the timing couldn’t have been better, the shoes arrived just in time for club members taking part in the annual Komani Half Marathon.

If your school, club or group would like to collect outgrown running shoes for us to redistribute to those in need, we’d love to hear from you.

yabonga_childrens_project opened a home in Khayelitsha for children living with HIV.

Within a few months they were already caring for 16 abandoned babies. Upon reflection, a plan was made to also have the mothers welcomed into the space.

In addition to the home, Yabonga HIV Support Centres have been established at 12 community clinics across the area.

“Yabonga has become my second home, the staff gives me good advice and help me academically. Yabonga has assisted me to not be afraid of being HIV positive, they hold my hand and give me the support I need”, said one of the children at Yabonga.

To learn more about the work of Yabonga, find them on our website at the link in our bio.

Heritage is not only about where we come from. It’s also about the people who make our communities better for those who come after us.

When Marie Botha co_founder of Sinethemba saw children in her community who needed a safe place, she opened her own home. With her pension, a few donations and a big heart, she created a space where children could feel safe, have a warm meal and receive the support they needed.

Today, that small act of kindness has grown into Sinethemba Edu-Care, supporting around 120 children.

We celebrate Marie and the many everyday heroes like her who quietly show up, care and make a difference. 💚

That’s a legacy worth celebrating. 🇿🇦

Instead of focusing solely on beach clean-ups to tackle plastic pollution, The Litterboom Project focuses on intercepting waste in rivers.

The non-profit installs floating barriers (litterbooms) in rivers across the country to intercept it before it reaches the ocean in the first place.

This strategy is proven to work incredibly well, having already prevented over 2,500,000 kg of plastic from reaching the ocean.

With 80% of ocean plastic originating from rivers, this method has also helped teach many about the root cause of plastic pollution.

The project is currently active across 10 rivers in South Africa. Over the years, they’ve proven to create jobs, empower communities and educate the public.

Sports have proven to be a gateway for improving children’s social, emotional, and physical well-being. Sporting Chance gives underprivileged youth the chance to learn and hone their sports skills by providing coaching for soccer, rugby, and cricket across communities.

Balancing sports, academics, and play, their strategy has allowed the non-profit to drive positive change in communities and empower the youth.

In the heart of Durban is Pre-School, started in 1995 by two women from a local church with just 15 children.

Back then, they taught lessons on the street pavement, while their parents would work as vendors and traders in the city center.

Today, they serve over 180 learners aged 3 to 6 in a dedicated facility, providing essential early childhood education, emotional care, and two nutritious meals a day. This is a major achievement, looking at where they started.

However, these underprivileged families struggle to afford to pay their fees. Visit the link in our bio to see how you can support the school.

Their efforts has given them a 10/10 rating on our , and we’re honoured to support them.

⚽️ Making a Difference, One Pair at a Time! 👟

On 9 September 2026, we had the privilege of visiting Newcastle FC, a local soccer club in Masiphumelele. The boys train in the wetlands at the back of the community, where their passion for the game continues to shine despite the challenges they face.

We were able to donate 10 pairs of soccer boots to the club. Seeing the excitement, happiness and gratitude on the boys’ faces reminded us once again why we do what we do.

These boots are more than just footwear—they give the boys the opportunity to play with comfort, confidence and pride. ⚽️

Thank you, Newcastle FC, for welcoming us. We look forward to continuing to support young people in our communities through sport.

Together, we can make a difference—one pair of boots at a time.
