The Zy-ni0st lobby instigated a malicious campaign aimed at preventing Muslim speakers who had spoken out against the genocide in Palestine from entering Canada to address the Muslim Association of Canada’s convention. Ambassador Ebrahim Rasool was among those detained by border control at a Canadian airport while on his way to the convention as an invited speaker.
It is moments like these that remind us why the work of the World for All Foundation matters.
These are the times when speaking truth, standing for justice, and refusing to look away from suffering come with consequences. Sometimes it means scrutiny. Sometimes it means inconvenience. Sometimes it means being stopped and detained at airports. Sometimes it means being denied entry into country. Sometimes it means being declared persona non grata.
But history records that justice only prevails, and oppression only ends, when justice and peace-loving people are willing to speak the truth even while experiencing tremendous personal consequences. And history shows, time and again, that they are often the ones who ultimately stand on the right side of history.
And so we continue our work, and we continue pray for peace and justice — and for the ability to see the Divine within one another.
