BACK A CHILD'S EXPERIENCE | AZIDLALA IZINGANE MINI STEM FESTIVAL

What if R100 could enable a child's first STEM experience?

On 28 October 2026, Azidlale Izingane — Let Them Play will host its inaugural Mini STEM Festival in Etwatwa West, Benoni.

Following a successful 2025 pilot that introduced 38 children to hands-on STEM play, this year we're expanding the experience to 120 preschool children. For many, this will be their first opportunity to explore science, technology, engineering and creativity through play, making, problem-solving and discovery.

And we believe it shouldn't be their last.

Azidlale Izingane is building a continuum of early experiences that nurture curiosity, confidence and a lifelong relationship with learning through play.

Back a Child's Experience

We're inviting individuals, families, small businesses and organisations to enable a child's festival experience.

R100 enables one child's festival experience.

You can back 1, 2, 5, 10 or more children's experiences, or contribute materials, refreshments, printing, transport or other festival essentials.

Every contribution expands access to meaningful early STEM experiences for children in our community.

On 9 August 2026, the 100% Foundation proudly hosted Pads with a Purpose at the Soweto Theatre, bringing together 761 girls for a day focused on dignity, empowerment, education and wellbeing.

2026 Nelson Mandela Day

The 100% Foundation and Rise Against Hunger Africa made an impactful statement on the 18th of July 2026 when they rose like happy warriors to fight against the scourge of hunger.

Assisted by over 100 volunteers, members of the organisations filled up Wesley Hall at Northfield Methodist Church, rolled up their sleeves and worked hard to pack 70 000 nutritious meals to be distributed to 92 beneficiaries.

We recognise that access to proper school attire plays an important role in promoting dignity and enabling learners to focus on their education.
This initiative reflects our ongoing commitment to uplifting communities and investing in the future of young learners. We are honoured to partner with the school and make a meaningful difference in the lives of its students. Successful handover with Bonamelo Melisizwe Foundation where 100 learners from 5 different schools benefited from this drive.

Literacy in primary school is a vital foundation for a child’s growth and development. Through reading, children are introduced to new ideas, language, and imagination, helping them build confidence and a love for learning. Storytelling allows them to express themselves, understand different perspectives, and develop creativity, while also strengthening their listening and communication skills.

Incorporating crafts into literacy activities makes learning more engaging and interactive. We spent some time doing literacy work with the learners at Chief Luthuli Primary School.
