𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗠𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗧𝗬 𝗦𝗘𝗥𝗩𝗜𝗖𝗘 𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗘𝗡𝗚𝗘 💥 𝗪𝗛𝗢 𝗖𝗔𝗡 𝗕𝗘𝗔𝗧 𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗦?! 🥪

A HUGE shout-out to Amy Barnard & Jenna Andrews from Ashton College Benoni! 🌟

These two amazing students rolled up their sleeves and EACH made an incredible 10 LOAVES of sandwiches for our Lunchbox Project! 👏🥪

Every Wednesday and Friday, we make 990 sandwiches to help feed school children in need in our community - and contributions like this make a massive difference! ❤️

Now the challenge is officially 𝗢𝗡!😁

🏆 20 loaves is the number to beat!

Are there any students out there looking for a meaningful way to complete their community service hours, 𝘰𝘳 simply to do it to give back?

🌸 🅗🅔🅛🅛🅞 🅢🅟🅡🅘🅝🅖! 🌼

Despite the recent difficult at our Home, today has been a beautiful reminder that joy still finds its way in and children are a beautiful example of that! 💛🩷

Our little ones have had a beautiful 𝗦𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗮𝘆 at school today! They spent time picking their favourite flowers, carefully cutting them and then creating the prettiest flower displays by sticking their little treasures onto cardboard. 🌺🌿🌼

After a difficult few days, there was something extra special about watching them simply be children - enjoying the sunshine, picking flowers, creating, laughing and proudly showing off what they had made! 🥰

Perhaps that’s exactly what Spring reminds us of - after every difficult season comes new growth, new colour and new beginnings. 🌱🌸

And today, our little corner of the world was filled with all three. 💛

Tonight one of our little guys asked:
“𝘔𝘢𝘮𝘢, 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘣𝘢𝘥𝘥𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘨𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘣𝘢𝘤𝘬 𝘵𝘰𝘯𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵?”

“𝘕𝘰,” Mama said.

“𝘋𝘪𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘰𝘭𝘪𝘤𝘦 𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘤𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘣𝘢𝘥𝘥𝘪𝘦𝘴?”

“𝘕𝘰,” Mama said, “𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘥𝘰𝘯’𝘵 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘳𝘺, 𝘺𝘰𝘶’𝘳𝘦 𝘴𝘢𝘧𝘦.”

At 1:30 this morning, our Children’s Home was robbed.

Our school classrooms were broken into and TVs were stolen, along with our children’s computer – the computers they so diligently use for their computer lessons.

Next was the bicycle shed, where our bigger boys’ bicycles were stolen.

Their last stop was our tool shed, where a number of power tools used for repairs and maintenance were taken, as well as our bushcutter.

Things can be replaced. But what is much harder to replace is a child’s sense of safety.

These children have already experienced enough uncertainty in their young lives. Our home is meant to be the place where they can sleep peacefully, knowing that they are protected and safe.

And so, once again, we may need to call on our incredible community soon to help beef up security, to make sure that the “baddies” don’t get another opportunity to come back.

Every night, when we tuck our little ones into bed, we want to always be able to say...

“𝗗𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗿𝘆. 𝗬𝗼𝘂’𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲.” ❤️

🥪 𝗔𝗡𝗢𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗥 𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗚 𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗢𝗡 𝗠𝗔𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗔 𝗗𝗜𝗙𝗙𝗘𝗥𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗘! 💛

A big shout-out and thank you to Jethro-Storm Tait, a Grade 10R learner at Pinnacle College Rynfield who has chosen to support our Lunchbox Project as part of his Life Orientation Community Service.

Yesterday Jethro-Storm made 3 loaves of sandwiches for us - and even better, he’ll be making more again next week! 🙌🥪

Every Wednesday and Friday, The Matthew 25 Project prepares 990 sandwiches each day to help feed children in our community. Every loaf contributed helps us get closer to that goal!

We would LOVE to see more students following Jethro-Storm’s example! ❤️ If you need to complete community service hours, why not make sandwiches for our Lunchbox Project? Get your friends, classmates or even your family involved too! 🍞🍞🍞

A few loaves may seem small, but together they make a BIG difference.

As we reach the end of another month, we would like to say a heartfelt thank you to every person, family and business that continues to support The Matthew 25 Project. ❤️🙏🏼 Every donation helps us care for vulnerable children and continue our community projects.

Month-end is also a time when we appeal for support. Our monthly expenses are ongoing, and your contribution helps us provide food, education, transport, medical care and a safe, loving home for the children in our care. It also enables us to continue projects such as -

👉🏼 Moms in Need baby supplies

🥪𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝗛𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗗𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 💛

A very special thank you to Hayden Siepman, a learner at Pinnacle College Rynfield who recently chose to use his community service time to support The Matthew 25 Project.

Hayden took the time and effort to make an amazing 72 sandwiches towards our Sandwich Drive! These formed part of the 990 sandwiches we prepare every Wednesday and again every Friday to help feed children in our community.

It is always so encouraging to see young people getting involved and giving their time to help others. Every sandwich makes a difference, and 72 sandwiches is a wonderful contribution!

Thank you Hayden for choosing to make your community service count. We appreciate you! ❤️

We would also love to invite other learners who need to complete community service hours to get involved. Making sandwiches is a simple, practical way to contribute towards a project that reaches hundreds of children each week.

Tonight for dinner, Mama and Dada bought PnP family pies, along with mash and veggies. 🥧

The kiddies have been loving the pepper steak pies lately, so tonight we had a choice of pepper steak or chicken.

While dishing up, Mama asked everyone which pie they wanted. A few of the kiddies excitedly piped up, “Yaaay, I’ll have the hot one! I’ll have the hot one!”

Then one little madam very sweetly piped up:
“𝙈𝙖𝙢𝙖, 𝙘𝙖𝙣 𝙄 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙘𝙤𝙡𝙙 𝙤𝙣𝙚?”
😂

Some days you just don’t question the logic… you dish up the cold pie! 😂❤️

Never a dull moment with our little people! 🥰

Teacher Gill was explaining to one of our little boys that one of the older boys was leaving school early today because he had to go to the optometrist to have his eyes checked. 🤓

The little guy looked absolutely horrified and asked in complete shock:
“𝙒𝙃𝘼𝙏?! 𝘼𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙜𝙤𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙖𝙠𝙚 𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙚𝙮𝙚𝙨 𝙤𝙛𝙛?!” 😳 👀

Clearly, having your eyes checked sounds a whole lot more serious when you're little!! 🤣

Needless to say, Teacher Gill quickly reassured him that the eyes would most definitely be coming home with their owner! 😂❤️

Tonight while Mama was medicating those kiddies who haven't been feeling all that well with snotty noses and a few coughs, one of our little boyjies ran up to the table to claim some sort of sickness so that he could also have some much-loved medicine.

He blurted out very seriously:
🤧 “𝙄 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙖 𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝𝙮 𝙣𝙤𝙨𝙚!” 😂

I think he meant to say “I have a runny nose” or “I have a cough”… but apparently tonight we have diagnosed a brand-new condition in our house - the coughy nose!! 😂

Everyone burst out laughing and needless to say, Mama wasn't fooled, and no medicine was dispensed for this newly discovered ailment. 🤣

Life with these little ones… there is honestly never a dull moment. ❤️
