Let’s stand together and shine brighter! The 2027 Special Olympics BC Winter Games are coming, and we’re thrilled and honoured to share that TD Bank Group is extending its years of impact by becoming the Presenting Sponsor!

In the 2027 SOBC Winter Games presented by TD:
❄️ Snow sports events will be hosted in February 5 to 7 🎿 100 days away 🎉
⛸️ Ice and floor sports will be based in March 26 to 28 🎳 🥌 🥅

Nearly 500 athletes with intellectual and developmental disabilities will compete with pride, build lifelong friendships, and open hearts and minds to their abilities. They’ll have the opportunity to challenge themselves to pursue personal-best performances and compete for the opportunity to advance to national and international Special Olympics Games.

"At TD, we're committed to helping create inclusive and accessible communities where people are valued for their strengths and abilities," says Julie Armour, Senior Vice President and Pacific Region Head, TD. "That's why we're proud to serve as Presenting Sponsor of the 2027 SOBC Winter Games. Special Olympics BC creates opportunities for athletes to build confidence, connection and belonging – not just during the Games, but year-round. We're honoured to support their work in helping people participate fully in their communities and be celebrated for who they are."

Every athlete starts somewhere. Every journey needs someone cheering them on! 🫶 📣 🙌 🏋️‍♀️

A few years ago, Kassidy discovered powerlifting, and when we say she found her calling, we mean it!

While Kassidy continues to be a multi-sport athlete, powerlifting has become her passion, taking her to the provincial, national, and world stage! Her journey is a reminder of what’s possible when athletes have the opportunity to discover their strengths and the support to pursue them.

That’s where our volunteers come in!

We’re looking for volunteers to support our Basics to Powerlifting program, where athletes can build confidence, learn new skills, and explore the sport, whether they’re dreaming of competition or simply trying something new.

No powerlifting or coaching experience necessary! Just a positive attitude and a willingness to support our athletes.

Saturdays | 4:00–5:00 PM
Rec Fitness | Kelowna

Every athlete’s journey starts somewhere, and you could be part of it!

Interested in volunteering? Send us a message to get involved.

A big thank you to the Kelowna Co****le Society for supporting Special Olympics Kelowna.

This summer, the Society hosted a fundraiser in support of the BC Summer Games and generously donated the funds raised to our local.

Athletes Roy and Maria and our volunteer Local Coordinator, Brad, stopped by to pick up the cheque and, of course, had to play a little co****le while they were there!

We’re so grateful for community partners who continue to support our athletes and programs. 🤝💛

We walked together, Kelowna! 💙🧡

Athletes, families, volunteers and friends filled the waterfront for our 2026 Walkathon — streamers up, smiles on, every step side by side.

Thank you to everyone who walked, cheered, volunteered and donated. You made this morning one to remember, and you’re helping build a more inclusive community right here at home.

See you next year! 👟
